Just scanned the thread. My thoughts on the popular topics:
Arky - Technically, could lose several games. But I think they're pretty damn good, and Petrino is gradually working in some running game. I think he's doing it slow so we won't notice or something. Opinion: Arky finishes 3rd in West with 9-10 win season again.
Tamu - Expect them to look better early in the year and worse later in the year. I have no beef with Tamu, and I'm thinking they may finish 4th, but their players are going to have gut-check after the midway point. You take a weekly beating in this conference. Opinion: 4th in West
AU - Obviously, I don't like Auburn. As it pertains to predictions though, I'd rather be right. This year, my heart and my head agree... They have talent, but not waves of it. The O will likely be a little better because the Oline is the most important offensive position in the SEC, and they'll be a little more seasoned. The defense was atrocious last year, and unless Ted Roof was pulling quintuple duty as DC, Left Corner, Right Corner, Outside linebacker, and Inside linebacker....his departure will be largely unimportant in 2012. Opinion: 5th
MSU - Good coach, scrappy players, big Dline, but spotty talent and non-existent depth. Opinion: 6th
Ole Miss - If the SEC had expanded to 16 teams, they'd finish 8th in the West.

My homer pick is Bama to win the West. LSU might actually be better on offense by losing 2 Sr. QB's, but conventional wisdom says otherwise. The D should be nasty. The Mad Hatter has an uncanny knack for ignoring bad shit, so he'll probably coach as if they'd won in January...IMO, that's a good thing.

I don't intend to say it's a bad running game...I think it just stays on the shelf too much sometimes.

Auburn's defense will be improved because Neiko Thorpe ran out of eligibility. Florence is a monumental upgrade over Thorpe in the back. Frost needs to be better than advertised and our DL needs to stay healthy. Based on all that, I think it will be middle of the pack in the conference as far as defensive rankings. Still, headed in the right direction though.
