Ball gets Walker and Klein wins Davey. Heisman goes to Te'O

If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting

0% chance of that happening. zero

He'll be second by a very wide margin

I tend to agree with this but it will be interesting to see if voters are willing to vote for a freshman. IMO it is between Te'o and Manziel, a freshman and a defensive player and two Heisman voters don't tend to vote for. I think it goes to Manziel just because he plays offense.

  • Now this a little bit of the homer in me, but it's also truth and based on fact. I don't see how Marcus Mariota is not one of the finalist. I think he should definitely be there instead of Miller. I'm not dissing Miller. I think he's very talented, but he's not an overall good QB.

Mariota is by far a better all around QB. Honestly, I think if Miller wants to make it in the NFL he should try to go in as a RB or as a WR otherwise he's just goung to be a Troy Smith 2.0. Miller is an incredible runner and I think he could be one of the top RB's in the nation if he were to make the switch, but it won't happen so whatever.

Lets face it, Millers arm isn't anything to write home about. Mariota is by far the superior passer. Also, all this hype surrounding Manziel is a little overkill. It is somewhat justified I guess because Manziel is a stud and definitely a very dynamic QB, but Mariota should be right in the conversation when talking about the O'Brien Award.

Mariota actually is better then Manziel statisticly and if you don't buy into the stat thing then his poise and accomplishments as a freshmen should be a selling point. Manziel has more total passing and rushing yards and slightly averages a little more yards per pass then Mariota, but it's very slight.

As far as the passing and rushing yards go, people have to take into consideration that Mariota has only played in a second half three times this season so he essentially has played half as much as Manziel, Klein and Miller. Mariota has more passing tds then Manziel. Has a higher QB rating. Higher effeciency rating. Higher completion %, less interceptions, etc.

He is also a freshmen like Manziel who has led his team to a 10-1 record with the possibility of being in the NCG and if not, the Rose Bowl or Fiesta Bowl. As long as the Ducks beat Oregon State this weekend he would have led his team to a BCS Bowl as a freshmen. Not an easy feat by any means and the Ducks would not be where they are this season had Bryan Bennett been the QB so Mariotas a key component of the Duck team.

He's the most important component on the team imo. Both Manziel and Mariota are equally dynamic and talented imo so for one to get all of this recognition and hype(which Manziel deserves), but not the other is a travesty. Yes, Manziel had a great game against Bama, but that is just one game.

The O'Brien Award and the Heismen are giving out to players who have impressive seasons, not just a game. Granted, I know Manziel has had an incredible season, but so has Mariota. A&M does have 2 L's on the season where Oregonn has only one which they were robbed for by the refs. Lol. Had to throw that in there.

Point is I think Mariota should be an O'Brien finalist and it's it sucks he's not getting the credit or the respect where the credit and respect are due. No offense to Miller, but Mariota should be the third finalist, not Miller.

This isn't to take anything away from Miller or Manziel, but to show my appreciation and respect and give credit to a QB who I think is just as deserving or even more so then the three chosen finalists. Fortunately he is only a freshmen so he has a few years to win all the awards and he will.

Bednarik: Te'o (other 2 are probably better, but Te'o has had the highlight moments at big times)
    Biletnikoff: Lee
    Groza: Hopkins
    Guy: Allen
Maxwell: Manziel (I could see them going with Te'o though)
O'Brien: Manziel (this could go to Miller as well, IMO)
Outland: Jones (shouldn't probably but he probably will)
Thorpe: Thomas (the other 2 are probably better, but Thomas deserves the award for his production this year)
Walker: Barner (weak litter this year, IMO)

Why the hell do you even draft him? He's got injury tendencies, runs behind a sh!tty OL, and has Norv Turner for a coach.

  • My question is how is Teo a finalist for the Lombardi award - an award given to the best lineman?

It goes to the nation's best linebacker or lineman.

Last year Kuechly from BC won it.

Their website specifically says lineman though. "Established in 1970, the annual award honors collegiate lineman who display courage, character and team spirit on and off the gridiron."

I have no problem with it, it just seems strange.

Ridiculous how Montee Ball didn't get Doak Walker last year. Better get it this year, clearly the best RB in college football this year behind a crappy line.
