Predict top 15 for 2013/14.....

  • What would be your top 15 predictions for one year from now? Not preseason, but a year from right now. Here's mine:

    1) Oregon...13-0
    2) Alabama...13-0
    3) Notre Dame...12-1
    4) Texas A&M...12-1
    5) Ohio St...12-1
    6) Florida...11-2
    7) Kansas State...11-2
    8) Florida St...11-2
    9) Stanford....11-2
    10) Georgia...11-2
    11) LSU...11-2
    12) USCe...11-2
    13) Oklahoma...11-2
    14) USCw...10-3
    15) UCLA...10-3

Of course there's a bit of homerism, but I'm betting I won't be the only one. I actually do feel Oregon will be #1 this time next year and undefeated after seeing their schedule.

Oregon's only losing Barner on the offense, but Oregon always has elite depth at RB and next season's no different. Oregon's offense is going to be even better next year then it was this year.

On D we lose our best pass rusher in Dion Jordan who will most likely be a 1st round draft pick, but his back up, Tony Washington is no slouch and is more of a true DE as opposed to a hybrid DE/OLB like Dion is. So expext Tony to have his hand in the dirt more then Dion did and to rush the passer more often while relying on our LB's to drop into coverage. We retain the rest of of our DLine though so don't expect any drop off there.

Our secondary will be the same and with a year more of experience. No drop off at all. Our secondary should be pretty dangerous next year.

We lose our two best LB's in Michael Clay and Kiko Alonso which will sting a bit, but we bring back one starter and a few others who had plenty of playing time and experience. LB will definitely be the weakest spot on our D, but they'll be surrounded by a strong and deep core consisting of our DLine and our secondary.

Also, another spot where we've been weak at in recent years is our kicking. We have a punter and a kicker coming in who were in the top 1-3 at their respected position coming out of high school so the days of not being able to hit a 45 yard field goal are over and we'll have a punter/kicker who can put it out of the endzone or drop it below the five if necessary.

That is my reasons why I think my Ducks will have an undefeated season next year and will be playing for a NC. Please give reasons why you feel your #1 team will be on top and why they will be deserving of a #1 ranking and a trip to the National Championship. You don't have to choose your team to be #1 obviously. I want your honest opinion. If you're an ND fan, but you think Bama will be #1 then post that and explain why.

  • Oregon will be without Chip KElley, so take away atleast 2-3 wins for that

  • I don't know enough about some teams to rank them accurately. However, I'm sure Oregon, LSU, and 'Bama will be relevant once again. Is A&M actually good enough to get to a NC? I don't really know to be honest. I think OSU has a decent shot at another perfect season though since I think the only three teams who can beat them are going to be Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan next year. If any other team beats them it was probably because OSU really messed it up on their end.

Btw, I think Michigan will be a team that is ranked roughly 12-18 next year. A lot depends on the offense. The defense should continue to improve as better talent starts to hit the field.

There won't be any drop off if/when CK goes. It's going to be his system almost to a tee.

The best. And where did Ohio come into play? Just curious.

Thanks. I appreciate your response. It's nice to get a little maturity around here once in awhile.

Oregon will also suffer major sanctions in the future more than likely

I think that goes hand in hand with Chip Kelley looking for a NFL job.

  • Ohio St. will be top 5 easy ass OOC schedule that loses MSU and Wisconsin and adds Illinois and N'western. Stanford returns 9 starters on D, plus adds better OL than the players they lose, they'll miss Taylor. ND returns 8 starters on D with lots of young talent ready to take over. Lose 2 OL, Cave will be missed while Golic not so much, Eifert likely leaves early, Riddick is gone with Wood most likely gone, he's the key. 2013 is the year I thought we'd be back, fortunately we're a year ahead of schedule.

I think Saban sticks around for at least one playoff title.

  • Oregon- Kelly could possibly be in the NFL reportedly and the NCAA will more than likely have finally pulled there head outta there ass and imposed penalties for shady recruiting (Kelly will be doing the Pete Carrol giggle in the NFL).

KSU- Klein is a senior so he'll be gone and its looking like Snyder may retire.

A & M will have a mostly rebuilt O line that has protected Manziel very well this year. It'll be a different season for them next year I think.

  • 2013/14 Top 10:

Alabama & 3 other SEC teams
    Oregon
    FSU
    Ohio State
Louisville (16 starters return and a very watered down Big East)
    Stanford
    Oklahoma

Most likely not. Maybe 3 less schollies for a few years, probation and limited contact. No bowl ban. Pretty much a slap on the wrist. I know you're dreaming and hoping of severe sanctions, but sorry friend, not gonna happen.

Yes Im dreaming that Oregon gets sanctions, I couldn't care less about Oregon

I simply told homers like you that they wouldn't go unbeaten

I won, you predicted a unbeaten season next year just shows that you still haven't learned anything

I thought Klein was junior. Guess I was wrong. How come he's not in many mock drafts going in thr 1st round? Is he not being projected as a good QB in the pros?

They don't lose Wisconsin or add Illinois. Those two teams are in the same division as OSU.
