Frankly, the parents of a lot of prospects are as blinded by the glitz of the recruiting process as the kids. And I can understand being a parent who sees the opportunity for his child to play big-time football and now want my child to wait too late before that offer goes elsewhere.

You mean Clempson's? It's pretty well documented that Dabo (and Tammy before him) gets kids all fired up on his speeches about greatness and letting your light shine and he won't let them out of the room until they commit. Then when they try to decommit afterwards they throw the guilt trip on them like, "you're a man of your word, aren't you?"

In all seriousness, how many Clempson commits in the past 10 years have decommitted and then said something like, "I just got caught up in the moment" or "I didn't think everything through?" It's a good many. I know we have had a few end up at USC over the years.
