    Wrong...

And for those of you who say " but this is about interracial marraige, not gay marraige"....it shows that the supreme court can get involved in states marraige laws and that it will rule in favor of civil liberty.

Where does it say anything in the constitution about airplanes? It doesnt, but it does give the government the power to deal with interstate commerce. The constitution guarantees civil rights. In the opinion of Lovell v. Virginia, marriage was defined as a civil right. Do you understand anything about how the various branches work? The SCOTUS? Judicial review?

Way off topic but you are incorrect. Both those passages are referring to in church. Unless voting is verbally done in church during worship, women can vote biblically.

Be carefull quoting scripture out of context. I know a girl who tatted herself with "I now bear the mark of the Lord and I am safe." That is referring to circumcision, and she turned awful red when she found that out.

So use the context often used by more scholarly people, like the ones I cut and paste that from, of society, since many believe that's the context out was meant for... Take that up with the authors..

With millions of innocent people dying every year from famine, disease and war, how could any rational person think an invisible space deity, if one existed, wasn't either indifferent towards humans or just plain evil?

That's why people will shy away from your question.

God's existence doesn't preclude the existence of evil. We all have free will. Man's actions can impact either one.

I always wondered about this. Is it really "free will" if God already knows all the decisions we are going to make (being omnipotent and all)?

If I told you that I could make robots that could make independent decisions, but I was able to tell you what ALL those decisions would be before they were made, what would you think? You would think the decisions weren't actually independent and that I programmed the robots how I wanted, right?

Now, if he is omnipotent and proceeds to create us anyways, already knowing some of us are destined for eternal damnation, then what does that mean about our God? Is that evil? I'm not sure what to make of it, honestly. I just know I would never create something that I previously KNEW was going to suffer for eternity. I just could't be that cruel.

So you'd still say that if we talked about when the will of the people included things like segregation? 'Cause at one point that was the case my friend.

It doesn't take a scholar to figure out what the 2nd chapter of Timothy is referring to. I'm sure if you would read it, you would agree.

I'm not arguing over homosexuality, because I don't care what others do.

I am arguing over "Abnormal" versus "Natural" in Nature.

This. I don't give a crap what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home. But homosexual behavior isn't natural. If it were natural there wouldn't be 6 billion people on the planet and trillions of other critters.

They don't. It's a choice whether you decide to award someone 'praise' or not. It doesn't have to happen.

I'd have to say the Enlightenment thinkers who were trying to devalue the Euoprean divine right autocracies of the age and challenge the theories on government, philosophy etc.

There's no doubt that Enlightenment thinking had some influence over some of the Founders. But, where did Enlightenment thinkers get their ideas of inalienable rights and liberty from? You guessed it. The same place all Westerners got the notion from. The Scriptures and Christian missionaries.
