Quick Fix to Oversigning

  • wholephoenix79 said...

? Not sure how that helps your oversigning clause. Those numbers can be accounted for, but I don't care to spell it out with research to be exact . I do expect this year for urban to force some out. But isn't this convo about oversigning as a concept being wrong? Whoever does it even if it's Osu is wrong . I can look at my team and be critical , and at times be disappointed. Can you?

I clearly spelled it out for you and your buddy Devidee in my last post. He posted a list of our guys that left, but funny how nobody mentions the 12 guys that are suddenly gone, or "forced out", from FMU's roster. All of Bama's guys are clearly accounted for as well, but according to most of the oversigning mafia, we "force" kids out, while other teams kids just transfer. It's stupid and want everyone to STFU about it because even FMU does it. Transfers, Medicals, and Grey Shirts happen and have to be approved through the NCAA.

Ok. Difference is bama does it yearly . I expect it from Osu this year, we have a new coach. What's Sabans excuse?

Most of the guys in his list were kids from Shula era, not Saban. All of our kids (minus the one's that were suspended) that transferred publicly stated they left because they wanted more playing time. Saban currently averages 4 transfers a year, same as FMU. We've had 4 Medicals since 2008, which all are legit and in the media so go look for yourself. Bama is 100% no different than FMU or any other school once you research it and look at the individual players.

Every school has attrition and the fact we continue to recruit at a high level, will only cause a higher level of attrition. Players will want more PT earlier and expect to see the field. Once they figure out they have to wait 2-3 years, they want to transfer.

Classic deflect move....Contemporary one would say. Should I continue this volley, I fear we will all end up laughing at you and that was never the intent of my post. Dharma demands it. I shall now retreat to the bastion of my living quarters and enjoy a pear pie and a nice red. Tally ho........Go Irish!

Looks like Urban has already started the "process".

Well, that certainly didn't take long. A couple of days after his second legal issue in less than three months was made public, Dominic Clarke has found himself on the outside of the Ohio State football program looking in.  As has another secondary teammate, as it turns out.

Fair enough. I will call a truce with you. We can agree to disagree . Our convos on two threads are going in circles. As a parting statement , as said before I do not think oversigning is the major factor in the recent sec cycle of success . I just don't like the practice of it. Whoever engages in it

No excuse, just that it is irrelevant and the competition actually increases opportunity and improves performance both on and off the field.

The rules will continue to changed for one reason and one reason alone...to level the playing field in hopes that the resulting parity will create more interest in the sport and increase the flow of dollars. It's all about leveling the playing field; nobody gives a rat's ass about the kids.

The NCAA met this year about once again lowering the number of total scholarships a school can give out because the smaller schools do not think it is fair. Essentially destroying opportunity for athletes that may not have another way to get a good education in an effort to get some more leverage out of the slave labor you have created for yourself.

The easiest way to fix the fake and totally transparent hysteria around "over signing" is to just let the schools sign as many as they want every year but have the schools on the hook monetarily for a four year scholarship if the athlete meets minimum academic requirement. The schools can move athletes off the football team who do not perform but still have to pay for their education if they decide to do so. This would completely eliminate all the pretend academic concerns of kids that are “run off” though don’t claim to be so. However, nobody would ever agree to it because it would have the opposite effect on parity and leverage which again is the only real agenda. Everything else is total bullshit.

    I agree.
