Rams Redskins strike deal for No 2 pick

Way too early to be sayin the Skins gave up too much. RG3 could lead DC to 3+ Superbowl titles. I'm expecting at least 2.

I'd take barkley and wilson over rg3 anyday of the week. Hope I'm wrong and rg3 turns out to be great. I see them as better pro prospects than him.

I have concerns over Wilson's arm strength. I think Barkley will be a stud. I haven't seen as much of Bray to be able to say one way or another.

I think Barkley is better right now. But I think Wilson’s arm strength is better than Barkley’s. I think he has plenty of enough arm to make it into the NFL.

I would take Barkley over RGIII but would take RGIII over both Wilson and Bray for sure. I think RGIII is going to be special if the Skins can find a way to put help around him.

Don't know. When they had Mallet you saw a lot more long passes 30+ yards down field. Mallet leaves, Wilson takes over, and it is much more dink and dunk and crossing routes.

    To be fair,

I haven't seen many college qb's with arms like Mallett's. Of course he had his little issues with powdered substances as well. Or so it is said.

It was definitely more dink and dunk but Mallets arm strength is special and on like a Russell and Stafford level. There is a lot of D and D in college football now, regardless of Offense.
If I had to rank them for next year

    1.Barkley
    2.Bray(potential)
    3.Wilson
    4.Jones

I'm not completely sure and just going by the eye test, but Mallett had a way stronger arm than Wilson's and probably stronger than Stafford's. Again could be wrong but Mallett just threw darts like I haven't seen in a while.

True, but if you watch what Petrino did with Wilson, he changed the whole passing game. He had the same stud receivers (minus a great TE) so if anything it should have supported at least testing down field a little bit more than they did. The farthest Wilson targeted a receiver was 20 to 25 yards (not counting hail marys etc). The only reason's I have for doing this are
    1. Wilson lacks arm strength
    2. The O-line was good enough to protect for a down field passing game
    3. Mitchell (who was competing with Wilson for the starting job) has a week arm and Petrino wanted both players to be able to run the offense.

Nah, he liked to drink, that was it. I went to high school with some of his cousins, oddly enough, one of which passed away a couple days ago.

He even had a public intox charge.

It’s definitely stronger than Wilson, but I was just making the point that you can’t knock him when comparing the two because Mallets arm strength is special. If Barkley has an average arm by NFL standards then IMO Wilson arm is slightly above average.

See I disagree with you guys... Then again I've watched every game Wilson has played (even going back to HS) so I have more opportunity to over analyze things.

Well Wilson is better under pressure than Mallett was by far. That makes up for his lack of arm strength compared to Mallett's especially when it comes to his pro potential.

Wilson has been good with that since HS. Petrino really lucked out with the QB situation at AR. got Mallet to transfer from Mich.
Signed Wilson who is the all time leader in pass yds and TD's in the state. Have Allen waiting in the wings who is an absolute stud, and is now recruiting his little brother who is supposed to be just as good if not better.

Idk, it seemed to me that he can put more zip on the ball, and can fit it into tight windows better than Barkley, although Barkley is a guy who likes to put a lot of touch on his passes which can sometimes make his arm look weaker than it really is. You have obviously seen more ARK then I but it did seem to me like he had a good deep ball, and Petrino could have been holding him back because it was his first year starting. I disagree with you on the O-line part. By SEC standards they got manhandled by LSU and BAMA. Two great fronts but it didn’t seem like he had time to throw both of those games. Still a lot of time till the 13 draft but I definitely think Wilson can close the gap between him and Barkley.

  • to me the much better player is Barkley remembering that Barlkley will have time to improve over the next year as well ; would not even take Wilson over Murray or Bray at this point but JMO

Standard Redskins, we will never figure it out

All for a Heisman QB too, when Heisman QB's are known for doing jack dick in the NFL

False correlation. Still a bad trade.

The O-line got manhandled by both of those supperior D- lines, but they had problems with protection against other teams too.

Everyone got manhandled by Bama and LSU's defense. That wasn't something to be ashamed of last year.
