    This is a meaningless ranking, because you aren't taking into account the effect that the coach's school has on his recruiting. Hoke wouldn't recruit this well if he were at Indiana, and Kevin Wilson wouldn't recruit this poorly if he were at Michigan. Ergo, ranking coaches' recruiting abilities based on the perceived quality of their classes is stupid.

  • This is why I never "root" for scUM. Some people give me the well the BIG is better when scUM is better too crap. However, I don't have to hear stupid stuff like this when they have no success at all.

    Hoke puts in two good years, and you got a fan base arguing things like this. Please rank the top 5, 10, 15, 25 etc players each coach (Meyer, Hoke) has recruited in their careers. Please let me know which players you would take.

    Hoke is doing a great job. Please don't act like he is a HOF'er or something based on two years.

    BTW...I understand all fanbases do this. I don't have to listen to those other fanbases all the time though. It is also easier to laugh off ones in my own fanbase.

    Historically, Urbs at Florida > Hoke at Michigan.

    An argument can be made for Hoke currently also.

    Things working in Hoke's favor on this.

    The scUM team is basically wide open for early playing time.
    He had an extra year to build relationships with these players. Many of them had a scUM offer before Meyer was even on the job.

    Edit: Didn't answer your question. I have no idea if that statement is accurate.

    How am I the biggest homer. I tell it like it is, and don't lie and say that Urban Meyer's the best recruiter in the Big Ten when he just loads up on the DL and whatever scraps that Hoke didn't offer on the OL.

    Your guy has signed one class at Michigan. Urban's class was better than his, and he put that together in 6 weeks. Urban has earned the reputation of being one of if not the best recruiter in the sport. He did that by consistently pulling talent from around the country. Your guy hasn't done that yet. One day he may, but for now the guy has coached at Ball State and has recruited one pretty good class and has another very good class working.

    I'm not an Urban guy, I'm a Tress guy. I don't even like Urban, but the facts are clear as day on this. If you don't want to see them you're a homer.

    Let's also overlook the other important criteria for a coach which is on field performance. Hoke just went over .500 for his career this last season and has never beaten a top 15 ranked team. Meyer onnthe other hand has a stellar on field record.

    Can speculate and break down any way you want, but Hoke has never signed a higher ranked class so to rank him higher is being a homer... Oh wait, only UM fans think it...

    He spent most of those years at a terrible MAC program, and Urban spent most of his time at Florida and Utah who ave more resourves than BSU.

    It's one thing to like your coach. If I were yall, I'd be very happy to have him. To say he is the better recruiter, when the other guy has a much longer and more successful history than the other is just being an idiot.
