    No it's not.

California also has the MOST TOTAL PLAYERS by a good margin, shouldnt that be expected. Players per capita is the best way to judge and california isnt very high on that list... Last I saw Louisiana was actually first on that list. Florida and Georgia were up there too.

Actually, according to the link, Texas has by far the most players. So read before you post next time partna

your mom isn't in the top-10 per capita.

per capita is a 100 percent irrelevant argument in this case.

Yep, I just said the entire country

Mom jokes, lol. The whole NFL argument is irrelevant, then.

St. Thomas Aquinas, in Florida, has produced more NFL players than any other high school. So this makes them the best high school football product in America, right?

Only nine high schools have had at least four former players drafted since 2008. Five of them come from the state of Florida (St. Thomas Aquinas, Miami Northwestern, Lakeland, Pahokee and Pompano Beach Ely).

Long Beach Poly has produced more NFL players last time I checked.

My friend, Ohio football goes back further than FL football. I've seen both firsthand. FL is playing better football right now for sure, but there has been a lot of legit football been played in Ohio for a long time. I went to the smallest school in the top division in Ohio. We had a bigger stadium and more fans at games than the top team in Orlando does right now. Passion for HS football in Ohio is paralleled only by Texas.

So wait you are saying that your school has a bigger stadium than Edgewater, because that stadium is huge and they are one of the biggest schools in Florida.

Perhaps the facts as of yester-year as there is a "time-delayed" effect in terms of seeing which states currently have the best high school football talent as Georgia has now surpassed Ohio in terms of the pecking order.

Here is a list of guys from the ATL Metro over the past 5-6 years with 3-4 guys listed from the Columbus & LaGrange areas which are still in the state of Georgia but not the ATL Metro.

Metro ATL since 2007: Everyone listed is a high 3 star, 4 star or 5 star.

How so? If a state has more players shouldnt they have more players in the NFL? Cali teams suck their level of HS football has dropped off... Or been exposed to not be that good at all. They get smacked around OOS ...

Georgia is one of the most recruited states in the nation surrounded by other SEC teams. Its impossible for them to lock down all their talent.

    MaybeNxtYear

  • I'm not exactly sure what we are arguing here. Are we arguing what states produce the best athlete or the best HS football teams? The answer than becomes quite different.

In terms of best athlete I would rank Florida, Texas, California, Georgia and Ohio above the other states. In terms of better HS teams, I would rank Ohio ahead of Georgia. I don't think people understand the qulaity of depth in Ohio HS football and no I am not just talking on kids who go to top colleges. Texas and Ohio both have great quality football teams. I think other southern posterns are misunderstanding some of the Ohio posters in this thread. We are not dismissing the mass amount of talent in the above states, at least I'm not.

Also, the NFL by state per capita is stupid. My case in point, look at how high Hawaii is ranked using that criteria. Nobaody can tell me they play quality football there.

Because Georgia is in the same boat as Clemson, Texas, FSU, and some other schools. They are always very talented, but they fade in big games for some reason.
