To Catch a Predator gets you a -10000 points

Then take OSU out of the 5* category.

The Beast of the East deserves a little more recognition than Stanford or West Virginia.

There is a difference in being a destination job and having good programs. Harbaugh resurrected Stanford, but that doesn't mean its a great job. The academic requirements are hell to get around, its tough to recruit to Stanford over USC, and recently Oregon.

I love Holgerson at WVU, one of my favorite coaches in the country, but West Virginia is NOT a destination job. They're in a horrible conference, don't have as great of a tradition as others on that list, and don't have fertile recruiting grounds or traditionally great success recruiting in general. They have had some successful coaches, but they are not a destination job.

‏@Cordale10 Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS

    Academic requirements are tough.

Its different than the SEC up here, people actually have to go to class and make their grades.

    Uhm no.

    Its cold.
    75% male.
    8,000 students.
A small town in rural Indiana... no one with offers from Alabama, Texas, FSU, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Clemson, UGA, and so on would go there 85% of the time... the expectations are unreasonable.

And because of academic requirements, the pool of talent is that much smaller to begin with.

I've spent enough time around Darius Walker and a few of his ND buddies to hear stories how that's utter BS. it's just as easy at ND if a player doesn't care about school. Now there are probably a higher percentage of players at ND that take academics more seriously than at SEC schools. To say ND academics are tough is a joke. Same can be said about women's basketball at ND as well.

Bama is in the Southeast, and that is not their traditional nickname.

No need to get pissy here, I'm just pointing out that we're a better job than West Virginia, and IMO Auburn as well.

Also, the whole "good teams" thing isn't that true. We lost to Michigan a bunch til we won 4 in a row off of RichRod, and OSU and us are 14-13 all time. We beat LSU three years ago, and have admittedly been pretty bad since.

Still, great facilities, huge alumni base with lots of money, committed to winning, big time fan base, great tradition.

Yeah they can, and most D1 football players have lower scores and GPAs than others who get turned down.

However Notre Dame takes their academics a lot more seriously than South Carolina, and is a much tougher school. They let people who normally wouldn't qualify otherwise in, but they don't allow for as much of a gap as other schools.

You can skate by wherever you go regardless, but it does hurt them in recruiting.

  • Georgia would/should be a 5* job, with all the talent coming out at the high school level if Richt werent there. He seems to do just enough to keep his job everytime he gets on the hotseat. Even with Bama and AU raiding GA for talent every year, they should still have enough to be a consistent top 15 team.

I was going to say that Georgia is a 5* job with the talent pool. LSU might be a 4* for the same reason.

LSU is a 5* job. Lousiana talent is really good, just not a whole lot of it. LSU locks it down for the most part though and gets their pick of those great players.

As far as UGA's rank, I would actually say more like 4 and half stars. We aren't quite 5, have to get over that hump first, but we should be and are definitely a better job than most of those other 4*s.

You also have to remember that BetterOff is a hardcore UGA hater. He would make a good Georgia Tech fan with all that pent up groundless rage and jelly toward UGA. Can't put any stock in any opinion he has on UGA because it is too bias to be taken seriously.
