  • The SEC has 8 teams with winning records -
combined vs other over .500 AQ teams they are
(19-16) 35 games (9-8 on the road) 17 road games

The PAC also has 8 teams with winning records -
combined vs other over .500 AQ teams they are
(27-26) 53 games (11-15 on the road) 26 road games

The numbers here are interesting -
The PAC's 8 winning teams have played 53 games against other winning AQ teams
compared to just 35 games for the 8 winning SEC teams.

    18 more games/ 9 more road games - that's a gigantic difference in favor of the Pac12.

Yet the SEC will win another NC, and 80% of their bowl games against other conferences.

At this point all your stats are just an effort to make yourself feel better. Hope its working.

Only on tBB would someone call Win/Loss records "your stats." That's classic.
I see some real comedic potential here, I'm gonna have to try this one out later today
and see what kind of laughs and or blank stare's I get.

"Hey bro, what's your team's record right now?"
    [ We are 4-2 right now ]
"Oh man, come on with that BS, those are just some fancy stats you made up,
give me something real, man. Stop with all these stats and just tell me your record.
    -- this one's a winner -

Win/Loss records, and amount of road games and such,
are just simple facts, not stats.

Stats are things like yards per carry, or yards allowed per play, or a combination of useless numbers people are always posting on here because they think that it proves their defense is "elite" because in night games vs D1aaa & 1/2 teams on Astroturf on the 3rd Saturday in November nobody has allowed fewer yards rushing in the 3rd quarter when leading by exactly 9 pts, than Miss State.

I'm more concerned with Wins & Losses and the factors that determine them,
like the quality of opponents, away/home field advantage.

It's funny that the only comment I made about any of the facts posted above was that the Pac deserves credit for their SOS for playing so many more games. I didn't comment on any particular school's record, or the amount of or the lack of games vs winning AQ teams, so that people could just take a look at what teams have accomplished in games vs good to great competition and interpret it their own way.

Looks like a little guilty conscience got the best of you and you couldn't help but share how butthurt you are that your team (whomever that is) maybe played only a few games vs winning AQ teams and only 1 or 2 on the road.

Sorry pal, I know you think it should never happen, but there will be times when the SEC, believe it or not, finishes 2nd or 3rd place to some peasant conf. like the Pac12 in a category like SOS for exampe. It's bound to happen, at least once a decade. No need to get all butthurt about it.

    i'm butthurt about the SEC.

meaningless #'s are meaningless #'s, no matter how you shake it up.

the SEC Champ will once again play(and likely win) in the NCG & have what 6 teams ranked among the top 10.
my point ? how many teams (that matter) start the season and say " i sure hope we beat most of the sub .500 teams this year." ? no

  • Mr. Assassin,

While I appreciate all of your hard work and find it very impressive, I mean this in the nicest way possible..............but we simply don't give a fvck.

College football is cyclical. Please let us enjoy our cycle.

One day soon, when USC hires a competent head coach, they will return to their rightful place on the mountain top. Until then, please stop with the buzz kill.............we are trying to topple the current king of the mountain.

his stats are wrong anyway, or incomplete at least.

for example, most played vs >.500 ac teams are:

    1. USC 8-(3-5-0)--0.37500
    1. Arizona 8-(3-5-0)--0.37500
    1. Iowa St. 8-(2-6-0)--0.25000
    1. California 8-(1-7-0)--0.12500
    1. Missouri 8-(1-7-0)--0.12500
    6. Kansas St. 7-(6-1-0)--0.85714
    6. Stanford 7-(5-2-0)--0.71429
    6. Oklahoma 7-(5-2-0)--0.71429
    6. Oregon St. 7-(4-3-0)--0.57143
    6. Oklahoma St. 7-(3-4-0)--0.42857
    6. West Virginia 7-(2-5-0)--0.28571
    6. Texas Tech 7-(2-5-0)--0.28571
    6. Tennessee 7-(1-6-0)--0.14286
    6. Mississippi 7-(1-6-0)--0.14286
    6. Colorado 7-(0-7-0)--0.00000
    6. Kansas 7-(0-7-0)--0.00000
    6. Auburn 7-(0-7-0)--0.00000

for most wins, i know oklahoma should be in the 2nd tier with 5 (tt, texas, baylor, wvu, ok st)

not taking time out to look rest up, and this doesn't really change what he's trying to imply. but it's just a pet peeve of mine to post incomplete info.

No, not wrong. It's obvious from the list in my OP that only teams over .500 are listed. No need to list 5-7 and below teams there.

In the 2nd post is the complete list of teams and an explanation about the Big 12 since they still have a game to play. I counted WVU figuring they will probably beat Kansas, but didnt count Baylor just because there a 50/50 game vs Ok St.

Looks like reading comprehension isnt your strong point. Anybody with a 2nd grade reading level could have figured that out.

Sorry, but my pet peeve is people like you whose M.O. is to accuse others of being wrong when you yourself don't have the first clue. Once- ok whatever, but you've done it 2-3 times now.

Real Chump move on your part home slice.

first, it's not obvious in you op that you only listed .500 or better teams. maybe if you had stated so it would be obvious, or at least given their overall record.

2nd, i've had 2-3 times now where i've had to decipher what it is you're trying to post as facts. perhaps if you'd simply post your parameters we would have this problem, instead of expecting people to reconstruct your data and understand where you came up with it.

the one other time i remember it, i corrected my self anyway in a following post.

finally, it does, in fact, contain errors.

oklahoma should be in the 5 wins in the "most wins" category

ksu, oklahoma, wvu and tt all should be in the 7 wins column in most games category

nd, oregon, ou, ksu, uf, and tcu all have 3 road wins, unless you mean true away games, and it's just the 3 you mentioned plus tcu (appears you meant true road games here, just left off tcu)

usc has 5, and ksu, tcu, uf, stanford, south car, ore st, baylor, mich, and tt all have 4 road games (away and neutral), unless you meant true road games which has ksu, tcu, oregon st, south car, stanford, and usc all with 4. (appears you used away and neutral here, which is why it's so damn hard to figure out what your data set paramenters are by guessing)

i stopped here as i'm running into errors with each category.

only other thing i can think is you're also using those with winning records vs that opposition, but that can't be true or you wouldn't list usc with 5 road games as they are 2-3 in all games away/neutral.

at least give a brief explanation where your info comes from so people can test against it, instead of hiding behind "obvious".

The difference your getting on the Big 12 teams is from what I just explained a second time. I probably shouldn't have counted West Virginia but I figured they will beat Kansas. So when checking my numbers

I simply counted West Virginia but didn't count Baylor. That's why I put the asterisk next to Big 12.

As far as the neutral site games/ road games that's my fault for not explaining how I decided it. Case by case, neutral site games were only counted as road games if one of the teams traveled a significantly far distance from their own region.

So Miami was credited with a road game for playing ND in Chicago. ND was not. USC got credit for a road game for playing Syracuse in NJ. The Cuse did not.

Neither Michigan nor Alabama was credited with a road game since both traveled out a good distance out of their own region, even though Michigan went about twice as far.

Within region games with a minimal distance like Aub vs Clemson or traditional neutral sites like Jax for UF vs UGA and UT vs Ou in the Red River shootout were not counted as road games for either side as those crowds are 50/50 and neither team has to travel a great distance.

IMO this is the fairest way to decide if a team in a neutral site game deserves credit for a road game.

I'm trying to decipher your post here and I'm having no luck. Maybe you wrote it different than you meant to.

The first part about meaningless #'s is puzzlingly because what I posted are the opposite, they are the most meaningful games.

The 2nd part of your post is like if Special Ed hijacked your keyboard and had himself a birthday party. Its all over the place and makes no sense at all, since the post was not about games vs sub .500.

  • Another clown with stats. The PAC 12 would get murdered against the SEC, and the OP knows it. Or he's just stupid. You could take out Bama and Kentucky and the SEC would win head to head. Hell Auburn could beat Colorado.

Wow, you are really going out on a limb there with Auburn over Colorado.
Heck, I think my old high school team could be Colorado this year.

BTW, you are another tard who thinks Won / Loss records are stats.

Winner says - Hey good game, we won but you guys really battled hard.
Loser says - "Well, you might have won the game but that's just a crazy clown stat."
    lol
