Phillips is really starting to heat up. When he's hitting the ball the other way, he is very effective. I think sometimes Brandon has fallen into a trap of trying to live up to his spot in the batting order instead of just being himself. Often we have seen a much bigger, pull-happy swing from him batting in the cleanup spot, whereas in the leadoff spot or No. 2 spot, he keeps it shorter and uses the whole field. He's really started using the whole field here lately, especially on this homestand. Hopefully he just stays in that mindset, because he's a tough out when he does. Plus he's getting fully healthy now.
We need Latos to give us some innings tomorrow. Hopefully he can keep his count down and give us 7. I'd rather not have three straight abbreviated outings by our starters this weekend.

Reds fans what's yalls farm like? Seem like a good fit for Youkilis provided he is healthy unlike the first part of the season.

It's a little weak right now. We traded away several pieces last off-season. Most of the top prospects are in the lower levels right now. Not much in AAA or AA.

No kidding. A runner on 3rd with 2 outs isn't a big deal. Arredondo is a headcase and always has been. When his splitter is on, its literally cannot be hit. When its not, he doesn't have much else to go to.

I've come to the conclusion that Aroldis Chapman isn't human.
What was that? 8 fastballs in a row to a top 10 player in MLB, and he couldn't do anything.

I never want him in the starting lineup. His arm wouldn't last long at all, and he would have a short career. If he puts his mind to being the best closer he could be, I honestly believe that he has the talent to become a Rivera type closer. Different styles, of course, but just as dominant.

You're right though, he is definitely a set up/closer type of pitcher
