Yea ol pine box Tommy pulled same thing on us that he pulled on TTU almost 20 years ago. He said "the only way someone is gonna take me out of Oxford is in a pine box" next day sportscenter told the Ole Miss players, staff, and fans that he was the new auburn coach. And all the"experts" were saying last year after the Nutt fire that we should get over the past and call PBT because at this point in his career there was no way he would pull that move again. Ha thank God we didn't listen

It's pretty much impossible to pull against your team, but the best thing for AU right now is for Gus to go 5-7 two years in a row. That would usher him out quickly before you completely bleed out. If he goes 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, 7-6 or 8-4 again (or something like that), you guys will have destroyed any momentum you ever had. You make a bad hire after that and you guys are screwed.

You guys have a very similar problem to what we had. You have a "good ole boys" network that run things based on whats good for them and keeping their jobs instead of whats good for AU. It took us pretty much hitting rock bottom for the guys with the money to say enough is enough, and go hire a dictator like Saban who fired everyone and brought in outside people. They were then judged on the bottom line instead of how many friends they kept employed in the AD. Now our infrastructure is as good as anyones. But it might take something like that to burn these rednecks out of your AD like it did ours.

He built an 80 bagillion dollar arena for a sport that we have always sucked at.
He cost us 11 million on Gene and staff.
