For one thing, I don't think anyone was really saying that a bowl ban would hurt recruiting and also Urban got hired. The argument is baseless and therefore the thread is irrelevant.

Other than that just like reminding you that you are pretty irrelevant. Urbs will get some players and you will play some good football and if he is lucky enough to get you back to the big game, Tebow is out of eligibility and can't pull it out for him. Then you will need to hire a coach again after Creyer retires...................again.

Plenty of people were saying that. Don't kid yourself.

And as for your claim of tOSU being irrelevant, that's just a foolish statement. Speaking of irrelevant, I do believe this past NC you all won was the lowest rated NC game..ever. Am I wrong?

Sure, Bama is top of the heap right now, but where the hell were y'all during the 90's? Squandering in irrelevance worse than tOSU has ever known. Alabama has every right to be proud right now, but being proud and being down right delusional are two different things. Even our biggest rival would have a hard time saying the Ohio State (one of the top programs all-time, along with Alabama) is irrelevant.

Sweet flame bro. tOSU has beaten every major conferences representative in a bcs bowl game. Arkansas (SEC) even tho it was struck from the records we all saw the game. Oregon (Pac) the year before that. Notre Dame (IND). Kstate when they had roberson and sproles(Big12). Miami(ACC) and the Big East doesnt matter because the NCAA likes to make money with tOSU bcs bids so they would never pit them against that junk. So tell me again how horrible tOSU is outside of the Big 10

Just curious wich humiliation was that would it be the 06 07 team that pounded you and 4 weeks later the team he left for florida that was full of his recruits that destroyed you in the sugsar bowl!!!!!!!!!! You have no Idea how much I would enjoy an NC game with you.....

Once Saban got two years under his belt at Alabama, he dominated Meyer. In the '09 SECCG Alabama tore Meyer's undefeated, Tebow led team apart. Then another beat down in 2010. The level Saban has the program at now..... OSU wouldn't stand a chance in hell.

As far as SEC teams going up north, Alabama has a home and home with Michigan state coming up. One thing no one can knock Alabama for is OOC scheduling. Every year we have at least one big matchup. Some years the team doesn't pan out (Penn state this year) but that's inevitable. We play the big games, though.

don't suck every year and you might get a chance to get blistered in a bowl game by an sec team...whats that bowl record? 1-50 against sec teams?
also, if you wouldn't schedule directional mac schools every year...I'm sure cns would love to come up there and whip that ass...but urban doesn't want any part of it...he has 911 on speed dial when Saban is near.

Maybe if OSU actually got punished instead of the slap on the wrist they got. OSU probably lost a few guys in the process, Kalis being the most obvious, and was able to take advantage of the demise of PSU to make up for what it lost.

Has practice @ Scum started yet.Yeah and don't forget to lose the log books.ASSCLOWN those that live in glass houses. As your fat assed coach lied to get Kalis who took advantage there chin nuts IDIOT.

  • No one ever said the absolute joke of sanctions levied on OSU would hurt at all. Meyer has so far poached a handful of kids from the greatest dumpster fire in CFB history(Penn State), a kid that was dropped by Notre Dame, and a few in-state kids. Had he not been able to pull every single one of those kids, he would be a complete failure at this point.

come on Hub its not 1 & 50. in Bowls they are only 0 for 10 .

    vs the SEC overall however
legandary HOF Buckwheat coach Cry Cooper was 2-14 all-time while "the Nose" wasnt any better .

  • tOSU is 7-12-2 .vs the SEC all time with 6 of those wins coming against conference powerhouses Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Not to mention none of those wins have come AFTER 1935. No the Sugar Bowl against Arkansas doesn't count, I don't care if "we all saw it".

No, it doesn't count in the record books but they did win the game on the field, even if it isn't recorded in the books we all saw it happen:)

So that's 8-12-2 with 2 wins .vs the SEC POST 1935 if you want to look at it that way. I'm not an SEC guy at all, just trying to put a little objectivity into this thread. It's just hard to talk down about a conference when your respective team has no basis to be braggarts and act as if you have a winning record against the SEC.

I know i never talked badly about the SEC. I accept that they own tOSU. I was just peeved at the poster who thought we were irrelavent outside our own conference. Really that win doesn't count towards any record, it's just something we take solace in. We know it doesn't "count" but we saw it anyway and know what happened:)

You do know miami was not in the ACC when you beat them, so you do not have a win against an ACC team in a big bowl game.

  • Let me know when the SEC comes above the mason dixon line when its actually cold and plays some football the way it used to be played and beats someone...Yes the SEC has been dominant, but they play in their home regions below the mason dixon line all the time. Then they get to play in the bowl games that for all intense and purposes are again in their home region (besides Fiesta and Rose). SEC'ers act as if they are untouchable, and schools like OSU are not even close. OSU has more BCS wins than any other program, and its not against the Big East conf winner (no offense WVU). Yes, Big Ten has sucked against the SEC for the most part, I know Mich has some wins (not forgetting), but they don't travel above the mason dixon line, and you can try to ignore that fact but if every time we played each other we were playing up north and outside, I bet we win more than 50% of the games.

in a mediocre decade by bama standards we won the 1992 national title...blistering miami (without the help of the refs)...also whipped your buckeys a few years later with a loaded team of eddie george, korey stringer, orlando pace, joey galloway, vrabel, finkes, fickel, katz...probably 30 pros on your team and you sucked....like always...osu just sucks.
when you play the big boys, you lose...osu would finish 4th in the sec west...be number 7 in the conference every year, which is good enough to compete for the big 10 every year.

Exactly my point. When was the last time an SEC team came up north for a regular season game? Another thing, all this talk about when Urban was at Florida, who gives a shit? We aren't Florida, pal. Your GOD Nick Saban came out of Ohio State. He learned to coach at Ohio State. Was he a world beater at Michigan State? Hell no, but you don't see me using that as a reference point, because it would make no sense.

Another thing, tOSU's record all time vs. the SEC is 7-11-2. Your guess of 1-50 was pretty close, though.

Again, the SEC is simply too chickenshit to come up north to play a football game.

Yeah, i realize that. I just thought it would be more pertinent to include them in the acc since that is where they are now but either way i think i made a halfway decent point lolpray

Correction, Coach Cooper sucked. Dude had a knack for losing games with loads of talent.

Also, I'm glad you aren't completely in denial about tOSU putting guys in the pro's, though I fail to see how a team can "just suck" when they've put as many guys into the league as any other team in college football. Maybe with your infinite wisdom, you can better explain that one to me.
