who the hell knows what will happen... some kids that are not highly recruited in high school turn out studs and some that are 5 star are bust. guess we just have to watch

That's true. We'll sit back and watch.

UGA and AU aren't good offers? You know very little about recruiting.

UGA offered. They knew their RB (Crowell) was on the blink and they've known they needed RBs for QUITE a while now.

    Auburn: See above. Think Dyer.

That is assuming these teams offered him as a RB. If they offered him as an athlete, then it's hard to say they are good offers or not. UGA drops offers to instate guys quite frequently. I know quite a bit about UGA. Auburn poaches Georgia recruits as well, typically from the west central Georgia area. UGA wanted RN, so they very well could have seen this as a two birds with one stone deal (offer Gallman and generate more interest from RN, while addressing their RB depth issues). Auburn is always a wild card.

It's not a flame on those schools. It is what it is. When schools have obvious needs at a position, they take some reaches. I can't say he is a reach or not, because I don't know what position they want him. You can see UGA's need pretty clearly though at RB...and at CB (as SouthCar offered him).

No, I mean for Dabo and Clemson to really offer all these kids just to get RN. Honestly, I haven't looked at how good all these teammates have been, but with the way *my* board would be set up, I'm not basically burning 3-5 scholarships just to get one guy, even if he is the #1 prospect in the country. You only get a finite number.

Gallman is actually good and worth an offer on his own, but Kamara will never see the field there and neither will Nick. Except for some garbage time perhaps and barring a UGA 2008-type run of injuries.

So he is burning 2 scholarships (so far) plus RN's and supposedly hiring his coach to get a single player. I don't think it is ridiculous for Robert to want to go to school with his friends, but I do think it is well beyond ridiculous for Dabo to capitulate to it.

Yeah...I really don't care, but it's a weird phenomenon. I know kids like having their friends around, but you gotta do what's best for you. OTOH, RN might feel like Clemson is best for him even if he was flying solo. On the coaches, I'm pretty sure Dabo has wanted to hire the guy since he became a coach. They've been tight since college. I'm not thinking along the lines of anything shady, it just seems like a lot to give up IF it's just to get RN.

No, that is why the "supposedly" is in there. I have heard a few whispers around here, but not a whole lot of talk and Grayson doesn't seem to be gearing up for a coaching search so who knows.

    I was just wondering..
just moved but was next door neighbors with the Conn's.
I always asked about that college job but was told spending time with his kids is most important BUT never said no to it.
He was telling me the only time Dabo he sees his kids play is on film.....

Every played them in real life bro? Nope, well I have....and everyone BUT Nkemdiche is average at best . End of discussion

What are you smoking saying that Nkemdiche is average at best? He might not be a Clowney type talent but he would be a top three prospect every year. Three of the players they are offering for Nkemdiche look like typical ACC recruits. I'm sure Dooley can't believe he crapped his bed and didn't offer the entire roster at Greyson.

Grayson has the #1 defense in the nation, maybe the best to come along in years in HS ball. You cant do that with only 1 player, Kamara and Gallman are legit. Idk about the QB though I think thats just to make sure they get Nkemdiche.

Helllllllll no... I'm not upset but come on, really. They are no where near the top defense this year let alone to come along in years. Hell, my team has more talent on Defense than grayson.

    Prep Zone: High School Sports
Football: Grayson ranked No. 2 in preseason poll

3:24 pm June 2, 2012, by Todd Holcomb

It’s been 20 years since a Georgia high school football team has won a national championship. Grayson, a returning state champion in Georgia’s highest classification, is poised to make a run.

This week, the Rams were ranked No. 2 in preseason by MaxPreps in the first major national poll. Grayson was 15-0 last season and finished in the top five of several national rankings. This season, 10 of 11 defensive starters return, including defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, the 2011 all-classification player of the year.

‘’Grayson should have the country’s best defense, and their offense, with the amount of skill it returns, will be just fine,’’ said Stephen Spiewak, editor of MaxPreps’ national football rankings. “I do expect them to return to a more run-based offense to which the program has been more accustomed. Not to mention, no matter which team Grayson plays, it will always have the single best player on the field [in Nkemdiche].’’

Ranked No. 1 is Manatee of Bradenton, Fla. Grayson and Manatee will have one common opponent – Central of Miami. Grayson plays Central on Aug. 31 at Grayson.

Another Georgia team is in MaxPreps’ top 25. That’s Colquitt County at No. 18.

‘’Colquitt seems to have a good blend of veteran leadership and talented youth,’’ Spiewak said. “I really think Cole Segraves is going to have a huge senior season. It came extremely close to beating Grayson last year and would give them a game this season as well. Overall, I think it’s going to be a very good year for high school football in Georgia.

The most recent Georgia team to win a national title was Valdosta, which was selected in 1992 by the National Prep Poll and the National Sports News Service.
