5th grade education? .... public high schools are, well, public.
Only blame for dropping out of school is on the person dropping out.
Like I said, use your parents as motivation of what you don't want to be, ultimately it comes down to an individual choice to better oneself.
The problem with most libs is the inabililty to accept self accountability. Its always someone else's fault, yea? Therefore someone else should have to pay for the free hand outs and feel awful said person?

Great point. If anyone gets sick and can't afford health care, they should just die. Only the strong should survive, right? No reason to pay for the situation that someone else is in.
Wonder how many people with this view point also consider themselves Christians and America a Christian nation? We all know Jesus didn't help the poor or unfortunate . . .

Well if not all poor people are bad people that means some of them are good people that just happen to be poor. There are a multitude of reasons why they may be. So if that's the case, your money would be going help someone who is poor, not necessarily someone who made bad choices. Which is why I asked if you thought all poor people were bad people, because you insinuated all poor people are so because they made bad decisions.

I didnt once insinuate that poor people are bad. Just because I came from parents with decent money doesn't mean I never struggled.
I was on my own before I was even an adult, poor decisions landed homeless bouncing around from friends houses for a long time. I worked my ass off to get on my feet and paid (still paying) my own way through school.
That said, I donate to charities to help people in need. I still do not see why I should be forced to pay for other peoples' short comings.
Did I force this guys mother to have 4 children she clearly couldn't afford? How do you not avoid that after the first one.. or two. I have no sympathy for someone who continually makes poor decisions and holds a hand out to the govt.

So should we pull all aid because some people abuse the system even though many people are good people who could really use the help, or should we reevaluate the qualifications of the system so as to weed out those that abuse it? Don't let some bad apples spoil the barrel.

And if it should come to pass that you can't take care of yourself and your own, well, that's too bad, right? Your family should starve.
Got no problem with your philosophy, as long as you admit you're going to have a lot of starving, dying people all around America. Oh, and if your business/employment goes south? Well, you just maybe joining them. But hey, that's what you want, right? Law of the jungle; only the strong survive.
Just making sure I understand you correctly that you have 0 sympathy for anyone that falls on hard times, regardless of the reason. You see no merit in social safety nets and everyone's margin of error should be 0.
I strongly disagree with this viewpoint, because it would lead to a very unstable society. I'd like to hear your argument as to why cutting everyone off from any type of social assistance would be good for the country.

I do work for mine. I also care about people. The problem is you equate helping someone, a good person, who is trying their hardest and is in a bad situation with no money (maybe they're not that smart and being a janitor is the best they can do), with the government simply giving money to moochers. No one is saying give money to leaches; we're trying to get you to understand that there are plenty of poor people that are doing all they can to make ends meet. They need help. There's nothing wrong with needing help.
