My point exactly. People think that no matter what Tech will always rule the roost. Just not the case. Let us not forget that prior to this 10 yr. run the UVA-Tech series was virtually a push. Slight edge Tech if my memory serves me correct. But then, let us also not forget that UVA went through a 20+ yr. period in it's history where scholarships were cut, post-season play banned, and the administration thought about abolishing the program all together, this coming off a 9-1 season and an invite to the Cotton Bowl.
That said, where do you really stand? Not much above us, a program who when amongst other Hokie fans, you would joke is the worst in all of CFB. So, what does this really say about you and the Tech program?

As I said....you had a slight lead. And it certainly helps the all-time record that VT was able to rack up bunches of wins between '52 and '70 when UVA was basically playing without scholarship players. Prior to that it was as it is now, but in our favor with UVA on a long winning streak and consistent natl rankings. Granted, 50 yrs ago means absolutely nothing. I only bring the all-time series up to show that on a historical and natl' scale we are on virtually the same standing. VT does have the lead and more natl' recognition NOW.....but these thing are by no mean set in stone. And not only can they change, but they are changing.

UVA has had 2 good runs vs VT in football: 8-0 before 1905. 7-0 during WWII and Korean War.

While it was close before, as you can see, it really wasn't, I was surprised VT even had a football team during the wars.

We keep enough in state to beat your ass year after year.
