Rivals are a bunch of thieves.

  • I haven't been a member of Rivals for over 2 years. I know this, I called them, talked to James from India and canceled. I then checked to make sure I couldn't view WVU's premium site anymore just to be sure.

I just checked my credit card history(rarely use it, so don't check it at all), and I have been charged $9.95 each month for the last 2 years. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I get to call James from India again tomorrow, and I'll listen to him tell me I never canceled in some strange accent. I am so pissed off right now. Just needed to vent a little.

Oh, and I just checked. I can't read any premium content, and it asks me to upgrade to premium. But, hey.... That doesn't stop that failing company from charging me for the last 24 months.

I'll get my $240 back. I promise you. I will make James stay on the phone with me until he just gives it to me out of his pocket.

You remember what Cartman did to Scott Tenorman? Yea... I'll go that far.

Seriously, Mountie....how did you not notice this for two years?

Its a card I never use. No reason to check it. I check my other card that I use daily frequently.

Still, they were stealing from me. I have made a payment every month on the 16th for the last 2 years, and I haven't been a premium member. So James from India discontinued my membership, but kept charging me. That is brilliant.

  • I know that they give you an option to take a month or two of free service when you cancel. IF you take that service and do not cancel again after that period ends, you will still be considered a customer and charged monthly.

    Just a heads up.

I clearly told them hat I did not want the extra months. I then proceeded to tell him that the extra months were a scam, and they did it in hopes people would forget to call back and cancel.

Yeah, I don't trust them at all. The first thing I did the following month was to make sure that I wasn't billed. It sucks that they are such POS's. Two years is going to be hard to fight.

If worse comes to worse, you MAY be able to contact your credit card company and let them know what was going on. I don't know if they will be able to do anything because of the length of time it was going on, but I have already had them remove charges several times off of my account.

  • They attemtped this on me when I cancelled.

There was also a previous time where they tried charging me twice for a yearly sub.

Doubt the credit card will do anything either. My wife's phone got a virus while back, and somehow signed us up for a $9.95 a month text service. I didn't notice for six months. I was able to get three months taken off by the phone company, but the credit card that the phone was billed to basically told me to take a hike. It was my responsibility and that the phone company was reasonable in crediting 3 months.

Yeah, all of my prior charges that were taken off were for things that I caught right away (all monthly subscriptions).
