Memories of John Humphrey at Galveston Ball. Still one of the most explosive/best punt return guys I have ever seen in the Houston area.

For a few years those La Marque vs Galveston Ball grudge matches were as fast and hard-hitting of games as there were in the state of Texas.
La Marque RB Derrick Foster was as fast of a 205-210-pound back as one will see, or did see back then.

I was in 7th grade watching Clear Lake play at Galveston Ball and Ball had so many fans they had to sit some on the Lake side. I still remember the old man that, before every single play, just kept yelling "Give it to Humphrey" in an obnoxious tone. The Ball coaches listened and they won by about 50.

Galveston Ball with former MLB pitcher Brandon Backe and future NFL Hall of Famer Casey Hampton was a really talented group in the 90's.
