What makes it somehow even dumber is that these are the ideologies that aim to enslave blacks to a regressed social state. He's warring against the progression of "us" by perpetrating such foolishness.

Parker was a Detroit media guy before he went to ESPN. Had a show called "Parker and the Man" locally. He's a shock jock analyist. And a complete douche.

Rob parker asked rod marrinelli, (head coach lions) if he wished his daughter would have married a better DC. His daughter was married to the DC, who was from USC & an expert at the "tampa two". He got fired from the Detroit free press within a week. Couldn't believe he found work elsewhere. Made me LMAO though.

  • Parker is an idiot and deserved to be fired but not for that comment. The marinelli comment that is. Tragedy is that parker was fired before marinelli.

  • "Not one of us", not "down with the cause".......great comments there. Is Parker one of the black panthers?

People like this are the reason why our country cannot move forward past race and make real progress for the benefit of all mankind. I cannot stand to even read comments like those. It just infuriates those of us who can't see why someone's race is ever an issue. For most people born after early 80s, race isn't even a question or noticed. From what I have seen, race is from later generations who feel it their "duty" to push racism into earlier generations.

Barkley and Parker can be shipped off, along with any others who have racist views, and our country would be better off.

  • Let's continue this by looking at Griffin's comments (which I think are outstanding) ,yet Parker chose to criticize:

"For me, you don't ever want to be defined by the color of your skin. You want to be defined by your work ethic, the person you are, your character, your ppersonality. That's what I've tried to got out and do."

"I am an African American in America. That will never change. But I don't have to be defined by that." -USA Today

Who here would not want their son saying this statement? You can obviously insert your son's ethnicity in the statement, but premise remains that you want your son to make these statments and this is exactly (almost verbatim) what Martin Luther King, Jr.wanted for us (all people). So, Parker is indirectly criticizing the man who gavehim many of the civil liberties he has today, and even helped to give him a job opportunity. Parker just spat in the face of his own fore-fathers. Now, Parker can ask questions about his own "allegiance" to the "cause".

It looks like ESPN may pull the plug on Parker.

This and your other post are solid posts with sound logic. Don't get that too often on this topic. And I have to agree. Obviously I'm a huge Auburn fan and, in turn, a huge Cam Newton fan. I'm a bigger RGIII fan. The guy just gets it, on the field and off. Also, as a white guy who dates a black girl, you're spot on about the generational gap. I've never had anyone around my age say anything to me about it, but you'll get ugly looks and terrible comments from the older crowd. Not that all, or even the majority, of old folk think like that. It's just the ones that do stick out.

Nobody knows. Rob Parker doesn't even know. He'll have time to think about it though. He's been suspended.
