"nowhere near" is not accurate. He has more rbi this season so far, 10 home runs, .330 OBP and. 289 batting average and a few stolen bases. Robinson has a. 019 higher batting average, and a. 379 OBP, but less rbi.
Now, add in the superior defensive play pf Brandon its pretty close.

key phrase there is "this season".. Brandon Phillips is a very good player, slightly better defensively, but he isnt on Cano's level.

Cano has a cumulative WAR 10.8 points better than phillips in 3 less years. "Nowhere near" is pretty accurate.

I just like argument. I'm a big fan of Cano. Love having Phillips a part of the Reds, though. Guy makes plays in the field that are just crazy and shouldn't be possible.

Very true. I'd say Phillips is probably better on defense by a slim margin. Cano can sometimes take plays off in the field & have WTF moments. That's probably the only knock against him.
