Reagan had a split congress his entire presidency and it was hardly as partisan as it was now. In no way is it anything like now. The only reason people didn't care about the deficits under Reagan because he averaged 2.7% growth, which meant the deficit really only grew in the one percents. Nominal spending isn't as important as spending as a percentage of gdp Lestat. You should know that.

First of all clown! He didn't have a split congress ever. Dems controlled both. It was also just as partisan, but any dem who went against Reagan wouldn't get re-elected cuz reagans approval ratings were sky high. YOU should know that BLF. God your dumb.
