I know exactly 1 person my age (1990 same age as these draftees) who is married. It's whack how many of these players are married, or engaged.

It just seems weird at 21 you would want to settle down. And IMO it's why most of these guys end up cheating. Once you go pro going to be even more girls wanting him then most likely.

There's a lot of sentiment that goes around in professional sports that focuses around "the ones who you come up with." These athletes are so talented, famous, and most importantly, rich, that anyone who enters their lives after they make it to the pros is necessarily viewed with suspicion - particularly women.

This is why you'll see so many athletes with a posse and/or inner circle made up of longtime friends and associates. There's a pervasive belief that the people who knew you before you made it big are the only ones you can really be sure are your true friends. Stories about gold-diggers, unscrupulous agents, and entrepreneurs looking for investors all reinforce the fear of new people entering into an athlete's life.

One of the most common arguments surrounding Michael Vick when he went to jail was that he shouldn't have been associating with old friends from back home in VA. While he may not have done some of the things he did if that were the case, one can understand the appeal and desire of surrounding yourself with people who knew and liked you before you hit it big.
