    No, No, No. They have a couple of good teams that start out ranked so high that it inflates the whole conferences rankings. So really every team sucks in that conference, except 1 or 2, but the rest just get ranked high b/c they play in that conference. Coat. tail. riders.

  • The SEC isn't THAT bad at basketball. The BIG fans are just really desperate to be one up on the SEC in something and are over-blowing the discrepancy between the two conferences in basketball.

    BTW however much better you guys THINK you are in basketball than the SEC, the SEC actually IS that much better than you guys in football. So suck it.

  • If you actually watched the SEC in hoops this year, it was clearly mediocre. I don't need rankings and ratings and ESPN to tell me that. The proof was in what I saw.

    Also, with few exceptions, the league was terrible out of conference.

    I don't think recruiting better players is the answer. If you look at the last 3 NBA drafts, the SEC leads in the number of players selected by a pretty wide margin. Just a down year this season.

    In the last 3 years:

    SEC- 28
    Big East- 19
    ACC- 23
    B1G- 9
    Big12- 23
    PAC12- 13

    This is true. I couldn't care less about basketball but I have seen people in the state I live in trying to hype up B1G basketball this year and I can't stand it. I care about football!

  • SEC sucked at basketball this year. I don't know why anyone would think anything different. If you are talking about the recent history in the draft then you probably should just stop talking though. Lots of new coaches in the SEC the last few years.

    1966 in baseball (OSU)

    They do pretty well in men's gymnastics.

    Baseball isn't a major sport for them.... Hockey is bigger than baseball in that conference.

    Ahhh history! OK you just opened the door for our sister school Michigan to shove all those nc's in your face. However if you're talking here and now, the sec was a junior varsity league in basketball. Horrible to watch. It hurt.
