SEC crying about their lack of basketball respect.

I am shocked that a Michigan fan is throwing the weight of their entire one and a half championships in major college athletics in the last 65 years around like it means something.

One? Wrong answer, try again. Kitemac already hit it earlier in this thread, but hockey is actually considered a major sport.

The north and the south have different views. Baseball isn't really considered a major sport up here.

That he is worse? Well, he got caught at one school and scuttered off when they went on sanctions, he got caught at another and scuttered off when they got sanctions --- Forcing both those schools to vacate his success there -- and now he's bring in the greatest recruiting classes in history. But sure, he's stopped.

USC - We didn't do it! You don't know all the facts!! OSU - We didn't do it! You don't know all the facts!! Penn State - We didn't do it! You don't know all the facts!! Calapari supporters: - He didn't do it! You don't know all the facts!! Miami: - Boats and hoes! At least I can respect Miami.

Michigan shouldn't throw stones about upsets.

Why? Upsets happen to every team.

  • Shouldn't this thread be made after the NCAA tourney? What if the Big 10 doesn't win a 'ship or have any teams represented in the Final Four? Will you still brag about the regular season then? Will anyone give a sh*t?

I was just counting basketball and football. Hockey would count if we were in Canada.

Michigan has one in the basketball and a split title in football in the last 65 years.

I have given in to counting the '97 title as a whole one, so I will give you 2 (although Nebraksa would have spanked that tail).

What if they have 3 of the 4 teams?

  • Then they can brag, BUT, has that happened? Thread is dumb as fuk to make before the tourney before everything shakes out. Could backfire, real bad.

Hockey counts if we're talking about major sports. You can't force your southern views on the rest of us.

Nebraska would not have beaten us. Defense wins championships, you know that. We were first in the AP poll while the coaches gave Tom Osborne a parting gift.

    Your teams suck...

Your basketball teams are only good at defense because the offenses suck.

I question all defensive stats from teams in the midwest lately. Playing bad offenses can make average defenses look decent.

i.e. Notre Dame, Michigan, and Michigan St.

Notre Dame was 1st in the AP poll as well. We saw what happened. The old college bowl coalition gave Michigan a parting gift, IMO by letting them hide behind the Rose Bowl and a game against Washington St (which you almost lost).

The Big XII wasn't exactly a juggernaut that year either.

I agree with what you said about defensive stats in the midwest, but 1997 does not fall into the "lately" category.. The Big Ten was actually decent back then.

I'd say the situation this year was a bit different. Nebraska and Michigan both went undefeated, while ND would have never been #1 in the polls without the help of TAMU, Baylor, and Stanford.

Washington St was not a bad team that year fwiw. Ryan Leaf obviously busted but he was a beast in college, they had a very high powered offense. It's going to be an endless debate over who would've won between Michigan and Nebraska that year, so no use in arguing this.

As if that's indicitive of how Michigan has fared against the SEC throughout history.. Please. Any win a school gained over us during the RichRod years is not impressive.

I think we will be saying the same about Hoke in 5 years. Maybe it's the school, not the coaches. shrug

Hopefully we can meet again in a few years. Still don't see what this has to do with the SEC being a bad basketball conference this year and that their bitching about only 3 tournament spots is unjustified.
