No, you tip more for SEVERAL reasons. Number 1, quality of service and most importantly knowledge. At the IHOP, they got pancakes. At Koi, you get a description of the special of the day, whatever you want on the menu, etc. You also get wine service if you order it or proper pour of beer at table (active yeast culture). You're not just tipping your server, but the decor, the quality, the ambience, the atmosphere, quality of food, etc etc etc... In order for a server to get to that level they usually either 1- start off as a busser and work their way up or 2- Start at IHOP, graduate to Fridays, move on to a three star, part time in a hotel chain, etc etc etc... to get to that fancy schmancy restaurant. So they have earned that tip to that point. If something is over 100 bucks and they're aces, I give them 35%. Hey, I've been bartending for 24 years til I owned my own place and I reciprocate. You would shocked when I go to a bar and tell the bartender that I've done it for that long and I get the best service hands down. He knows who butters his bread. Pun intended.

If I have in depth questions, then obviously I would tip a lot if the waiters advice is good. But I wouldn't pay a lot just because of the type of place it is or because they "worked their way up". Service is service right?

The fruits of ths Spirit found in Galations 5:22-23, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control will become evident in every Christian within the first few years of Salvation. If they don't the Holy Ghost is not at work in one's life.
There are plenty of church goers that never show any of these traits in a consistance basis in their lives. Do we all fail at these things from time to time? Yes, do we consistantly fail at them as mature Christians? No.

Are you looking for something lean and tender or would you like a lot of marbleization like a ribeye? We can blacken that for you if you would like. Choice of 2 sides and my fav is DEFINITELY the creamed spinach. Goes excellent with the steak and pairs great with that cabernet you ordered with the red meat!!

btw, if you came to one of my places I used to bartend at, you would tip me A LOT more than 15%. I did things like this, I bought newspapers every day and set them on the bar. I printed out crosswords and sudokus for people to do. I had a board where I wrote down today's weather and tomorrow's every day. I had standings up for sports. If it rained, I got the cheap 2 dollar umbrellas so my regulars if they forgot theirs that day or didn't know it was gonna rain, they stayed dry. I had EVERY charger imaginable for people for their phones. I had tums, aspirin, etc (all illegal by the way. you can't give out ANYTHING to somebody at a bar). I had gum, mints, toothpicks.
My regulars would come in and say, "this isn't a bar, this is home!" Because I coached hoops and bartended, I was naturally called coach and everybody knew my name. I personalized and remembered everything I could about somebody. I went ABOVE AND BEYOND hospitality to the point if your bev nap was torn, you got a new one. Every person that came there was serviced like the president.
I smiled, laughed, talked, chatted, listened, told jokes, started debates (my favorite) and announce a winner to them. I also played credit card roulette with a group of 12 guys. I would take all their credit cards including mine. If I picked one of their's, that guy paid. If it was mine, I picked up the entire tab.

Believing in Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord and his sacrifice for your sins, accepting him and asking for repentence. Then if one is genuine in the previous things Salvation (justification) happens and the sanctification process of God using the Holy Ghost in your life to change you to be more like Him begins. We will not ever be sinless on this Earth, but we will change, I certainly did. Good works, and things like the fruit of the spirit come into our lives naturally at that point, Salvation is not works base in that we earn our way to Heaven. But it is impossible to actively invite the Holy Spirit into one's life and to have an ongoing relationship with God and not have good works and things like the fruits of the Spirit as a byproduct of God working in our lives.
I have often said to people, if after what you consider your salvation experience if you cannot point to specific parts of you that changed within a year, you need to reexamine your Salvation.

I think most Christians are not perfect in doctrinal beliefs simply because there are so many different variants of Christianity out there, it would be pretty arrogant not to believe that I probably believe something in error. I was raised Catholic though. So id say that all the human superlative things you mentioned would lead you to salvation, rather than salvation leading you to those things. But yeah i would think that accepting JC as the man is part and parcel. I think the fundamental difference (for papists, anyway) is that salvation is determined (or granted) at the end of the line. You gotta earn it.
And apologies if im misinterpreting you. On the mobile I often miss stuff/don't see context.

Yes Catholism is very much a work based to Salvation, I'm the opposite, I believe the works are the by product of God working in you, not you earning your way to God.
I totally undertand the error when people use the Bible to totally support their reasons for their faith, or what is right and wrong. I believe in the Bible, but without my personal experience of what God has done for me, it is meaningless.
LIke I said, my entire religious belief system hangs on Jesus Christ actually being God's son. If He wasn't than I'm totally in error.
And I think people who go around quoting Bible versus as a club to beat others morally are either 1) a new and weak Christian, or 2) just aren't a Christian at all. I firmly believe if one is truely a Christian, they should have plenty of examples of what God''s love as done for them to use as a testimony. People change because of love, not bashing people with moral rights and wrongs. For example that group that goes around and bashed homosexual families at their funerals. There is no Love there, just anger and I for one do not believe those people are Saved, they certainly don't know the God I serve.
