SIAP: Woman's body found in LA hotel water tank

There are lots of lawyers on here and they can say for sure, but I believe they are liable the same way you would be if someone who robbed a bank ran thru your yard to escape and tripped in a hole and got hurt , they could sue you. Although being a hotel and having a body rotting in your water tank for a week is much worse

If a lawyer takes the case of your fictional robber tripping my yard, then he is no better than the criminal of which he represents.

It truly is laughable how ridiculous some cases have become. If someone makes a common mistake an apology is not enough. Lawsuit is the only acceptable apology these days. There are cases where suits are merited, however, those cases are being heavily scrutinized as legit due to large number of leg humping lawyers who are actively pursuing the next leg/ "victim".

I just got back from Florida and on 275 through Tampa about every 3rd bill board was for an auto accident lawyer. I realize every profession has its "bottom feeders" but it's amazing how long the line of lawyers is to take ridiculous cases. More amazing is the % of times the insurance company pays because its cheaper to pay out than fight it. I'm not knocking lawyers nor do I think they're bad people. If the system allows it why not. I think it's more a commentary on society and everyone's desire to get rich quick.

I don't think that's liable. Anybody can sue anybody for anything. Might get thrown out though. Settlement occurs to save the money it would take preparing for court and being there

Unfortunately this happens quite a bit and is the reason frivolous lawsuits will continue to happen. I know my ex husband had to do this. He and his two partners went into business with a fourth person. They found out that the guy was using money in the shared company to fund equipment for a business he had put in his father's name. Because each owner was a 25% shareholder, the three partners kicked out the one stealing. The thief then turned around and sued my ex and his partners. My ex was told by his lawyer to settle because it would cost him less in the long run. Seems very unfair but it happens a lot.

Ok somebody here has either stayed or knows someone who has stayed at this joint, lets have it.

I went to school less than 5 miles from there and currently work apparently a block away. I honesty never knew this place existed until recently.
