Look, we went over this 100 times, but the evidence that "proved" that Paterno lied is a single email that refered to "coach". In every other email, Paterno is refered to as Joe. Sandusky was a "coach" as well.
I don't want this to turn into a pissing match. It would not surprise me if Paterno knew about 1998, but Sandusky was investigated and not charged in 1998. So I don't see how that is relavent. Paterno passed the buck on the info McQueary gave him... I am disappointed that he didn't do more. But putting the onus on your superiors in such a matter is not damning. He didn't want to deal with it and thought that the people above him would.
It is what it is.

If you don't want a pissing match then don't claim a lie as truth. Paterno lied. No one gives a shit about the fact the email called Paterno "coach". How gullible do you wish we were?
The ONLY thing people give two shits about is that the report states in black and white:
"Paterno could have spoken out in 1998, but didn't. He could have spoken out in 2001, but didn't. Whatever his motives, he did nothing or, in the case of the 2001 assault incident witnessed by McQueary, he did the absolute minimum."
Paterno is a POS for not doing more. He's a POS for looking the other way after being made aware that his guy was raping boys of their innovence. Boys who's lives will never be the same and for what, "because he didn't want to deal with it"? I wouldn't expect you to care, like you said, "it is what it is".

Yeah, but "Coach" had the first letter capitalized, so clearly it was Paterno. If not, it would have just said "coach".
It's never good when an article, siting "facts" has to clarify who the subject is that the "evidence" is referring to.
