SIAP: old lady drives into grocery store

  • We really need to do something about old people driving. Many drive for years beyond what they are capable of. I saw an old lady yesterday that I'm not even sure she could see over the steering wheel.

  • I am sure this will turn into a big debate about, "well how are they supposed to get medicine or groceries?" I can see that, but not when it endangers other peoples lives, which is obviously the case in most places. At a certain age there should be another test you are required to take.

  • After watching that video, I honestly do not see how anyone could possibly disagree with my previous statement.

    I saw an old woman yesterday get off on an interstate exit, then cut back off of it across 2 lanes of traffic to do a U-turn where there was no turn lane at all.

    Driving in my area right now is every man for himself and the traffic is making people do things that are just insane.... I pretty much refuse to drive in Arlington or DC, eff that

    she got careless driving. Everyone survived, luckily. Its dangerous to be driving that fast in the parking lot even without driving it right through the door of the grocery store.

    the other day on my way home from work there was an old man in a Buick driving in the middle of 2 lanes driving right on the line. I followed him for about 2 miles before he finally shifted over and i passed him. This was on the interstate going like 60 mph. No way that old guy should be behind the wheel.

  • Seriously, the driver's test should have to be taken at worst every five years, at best every year, and a few defensive driving courses wouldn't hurt. How you get to drive for the rest of your life, no questions asked, based on a test you took when you were 16 baffles me.

  • A co-worker of mine showed me that video this morning. He was down there vacationing with his family and was with his two boys in the same shopping complex getting ice cream when this happened. He said they shopped at that Publix the whole week. Crazy.
