  • I was at the Bama/aTm game. I've been to many great football games and have seen plenty of incredible football players but he is special. It was like watching a pick up game on the play ground and he was the one kid who everyone wanted on their team because his team always wins. At one point, we were more amazed than mad because he was earning the respect of everyone in the stadium. Truly a special talent. ...and we have to see him at least 2 more times.

  • Kid is a hoss.

I was actually nervous about him after watching the UF/A&M game and told my father that I thought he was going to be dangerous in the future. I had no idea that he would have been this good, this fast. LSU and Bama are not going to like playing this guy for the next three years.

Kid isn't going to leave early. He's only about 5'10" and won't be a first round pick, no matter how good he is. He is basically an Eric Crouch clone.

  • He'll improve more with an offseason, right now the offense is being slowed down because he has to look to the sidelines for audibles.

A&M is going to be right up there with Alabama and LSU as far as competing for the Western Division title in the SEC year in and year out. Sumlin is a stud of a coach and their recruiting is just going to get better and better.

With the natural recruiting grounds of Texas, and now that I think that they are going to poach studs that would have been UT locks because they are in the SEC, watch out. Good pickup for the SEC with A&M. Sucks for Bama and all somewhat but we've never been afraid to take on all comers. Certainly a better pickup than Maryland and Rutgers for example.

What a dissapointment Mizzou has been though. They should do very well in basketball though.

I said we will face him at least 2 more times because he might not leave early. Technically he is eligible to leave after next year but I don't think that is even remotely possible. That said, I'm not ready to make a determination about how long he stays.

He is listed at 6' 1" and 200 lbs but I always wonder about listings at the college level. That said, Russell Wilson is listed 5' 10" and just over 200 lbs. Drew Brees is listed at 6' 0" and 209 lbs. Mike Vick is listed at 6' 0" and a little more than 200 lbs. I'm just saying that if the kid can make the throws, he could get a good grade from the scouts and be a first round pick. The kid can play and there are plenty of teams in need of an upgrade at QB in the league. Don't discount his potential as a pro prospect. He is a much better passer at thsi stage than Crouch was at any point in his college career(in terms of being able to make all the throws a pro prospect needs to make).

  • He's not 6'1".

I've walked by him on campus and he is at most as tall as me and I'm just about 6.

He really just looks like some normal average kid if you see him in person.

I live in Tuscaloosa and cheer for Bama in every game besides the when they play A&M and at the game, it was a crazy atmosphere because a lot of the fans (my in-laws included) didnt know what to say about Manziel. They are normally pissed when an offense gets a first down but they were in shock (so was I, frankly) by the way Manziel operated. Hopefully he continues to progress because he's got all the tools to be great and he's obviously got a hell of a competitive spirit.
