  • I'm curious what people believe Miami will get but I want unbiased opinions. That means no canes gators or noles.

    Hurricaniac1228

  • Alright Ill go first

    2 year Bowl Ban
    15 scholarships for 3 years
    5 year probation

    Something like that

    15 each year?
Not sure exactly how it works but would that leave enough players to field a team? damn.

    Hurricaniac1228

  • Lol some fsu fans think were gonna get 60 scholarships over 3 years a 7 year bowl ban a 57 year tv ban and be on probation for 20 years

Yeah Im not good at predicting the scholarships part

2 Year Bowl Ban is what I mainly thinking, and a long probation

Quick question when we win 5 games next year does that count as a bowl ban :(

    I said no canes
Youre just going to start an argument with comments like that

    Hurricaniac1228

  • My bad I didn't see that. Most fsu fans are cool either way it doesn't matter cause no one knows what the NCAA is gonna do.

  • We won't argue, I like the Canes and don't want to see them get murdered but I truly believe Miami is in serious trouble

If I was a Cane fan I would be really nervous, the NCAA has a history of dislike for your football program and for the most part your administration hates the football program as well

It is an impossible task without first knowing whether they will be charged with "Failure to Monitor" or "Lack of Institutional Control". Even then the NCAA is far from being consistent.

With that said, I've consistently heard comparisons closer to USC sanctions than UNC or Ohio State. I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope the NCAA takes into consideration Miami's self imposed bowl ban. If the Canes have another mediocre year and self-impose once more (instead of going to the Sun Bowl) then they shouldn't receive anymore post-season punishment imo.

I hope Miami doesn't get hit as hard as USC did, but things aren't looking good so far. Hope you guys figure out your fate sooner than the Trojans did.

  • 2 year bowl ban

9 scholarship losses over 3 years

    Around 30 wins vacated

    And probation.

Has any of the stuff alleged been proven remotely true yet?

Sounds good to me. Vacate all the wins since 2002. We all know it doesn't mean anything

  • What Nova said in his first response. Miami is already a lame duck program though. If Florida wasn't shaped like the state of Tennessee with Memphis being twice as big and hanging out in the ocean 400 miles from anyone it would have collapsed already.

No fans, worst home game environment in the NCAA after maybe Idaho, Flying from Ft Lauderdale throughout the Southeast gets cheaper every year, etc.

    fsufsu

  • This is way worse than USC, OSU or UNC but I think that they were unfair to USC. I think that you will see a 3 year bowl ban, 30 scholarships lost over 3 years (10 each year) and 5 years of probation. You will never see a TV ban unless they get creative and just do a "local" TV ban. If that is the case, it will be for one year. Also, the coaches who did know about Shapiro will get a 3 year show-cause (or whatever they call it). They could let underclassmen transfer with no penalty as well.

    getmyjive11

  • I think the NCAA will impose sanctions similar to what they gave Alabama in 2002 (2 year bowl ban and 21 scholarships over 3 seasons).

I think they send a message.

    3 year bowl ban
    21 scholarships over 3 seasons
Vacated wins for much of the last decade
Probation for at least 5 years

I wasn't thinking about you when I wrote about arguing but more the people like fsufsu.

I haven't heard any opinions other than we'll be fine(canes) or the death penalty(noles)

Congrats on such an unbiased response

  • Is this really worse than USC. Miami is cooperating fully, already imposed a bowl ban(as shitty a game it would have been), Allt the coaches and admins involved are ah other programs, and all the benefits canes players got wouldn't equal what bush and his family got. But Im far from an expert on the USC case so I really don't know

I think this but because Miami skipped their last bowl it'll only be a 2 year bowl ban.

Although I think most of it is true. I think the NCAA's proof is testimony form players who got the same benefits on recruiting trips but went elsewhere and former coaches. That's my guess. Why else would These players for other teams not get any punishment

    Hurricaniac1228

  • I wouldn't expect much worse than what North Carolina was just handed. NCAA connections mean everything, as we saw with Ohio State and AD Smith; Miami has Shalala in their corner and a lot of these things happened when Paul Dee was at the helm. If even 25% is true, the transgressions make everything since(...the last Miami case) look like child's play, but that is hardly a consideration when dealing with the NCAA.

I predicted 5 wins earlier in the thread. Don't know how much worse it could be. I'm not delusional I can see the shape of the program but all the crap you said is just that crap. If Miami sucks so bad what does that make fsu? Last I checked the U still has more championships
