Is this really worse than USC.

But Im far from an expert on the USC case so I really don't know

There is no way to even begin to compare the situations. Yes, you are far from an expert on the USC case.

  • Another 2 years of no bowls. (So in essence 3 year BB)
    30 Schollys lost
    6 year probation

    Doesn't look good IMO.

I predicted 5 wins earlier in the thread. Don't know how much worse it could be. I'm not delusional I can see the shape of the program but all the crap you said is just that crap. If Miami sucks so bad what does that make fsu? Last I checked the U still has more championships

We can talk 80s and 90s all day, in terms of heading forward unless you're the type that can patiently wait for 6 years from now my comments are likely accurate.

I didn't see your 5 win prediction. I'll give you six.

I've alreqdy waited 6 years I guess I could go 6 more. It's goin to be painful but as long as the school doesn't move out o Miami we can hang on to mediocrity and weather the storm. A bigger problem may be in 6 years Miami could be a top 25 university which is the kiss of death for football

Having more championships in the past has no relevance to the success of UM and FSU this year.

Like investments, past success isn't an indicator of future success.

Alot of the stuff in the Yahoo investigation will never get confirmed by the NCAA so I don't think UM will be hurt that badly. The problem is that unlike USC, or OSU, UM doesn't have a large talent base with their current players. That is where the scholarship reductions will hurt.

Actually Miami has talent the problem has been depth for awhile. cutting out the bottom 20(just random number) players wouldnt make that much of a difference because they are so absolutely horrible. its quite sad really

    Stanford says that is stupid.

stanford is not a consistent football powerhouse, lets see what happens without the best qb in college football

USC involves 1 player(unless you'd like to throw in phone calls by a tennis player and the basketball sanctions which were dropped), a coach who the NCAA thought knew about it AFTER Bush had already played his last game at USC, 2 wannabe agents who had no connections to the school and did the work over a hundred miles away from campus, and the NCAA deeming a guy who watched practice film from his home and never even met any of the players as an extra coach. Contrary to popular opinion, the NCAA also clearly states in their own report that USC fully cooperated with the investigation. Do I even need to explain how this is less than the Miami case?

Is this really worse than USC. Miami is cooperating fully, already imposed a bowl ban(as shitty a game it would have been), Allt the coaches and admins involved are ah other programs, and all the benefits canes players got wouldn't equal what bush and his family got. But Im far from an expert on the USC case so I really don't know

The violations are much worse, but I think the NCAA really stuck it to USC because they were so arrogant (I still remember that when USC's AD or president was asked how he thought things would shake out he just smiled and said something like "It will be awesome").

Thanks for explaining thats why i said im not an expert, but there really is no reason to be a condescending donkey.
IF everything you stated is 100% true i would agree the miami situation is worse.

  • Miami lacks talent and depth. Cane fans are most jacked about Duke Johnson, fringe four star WRs, a DE who "blew up" at the Under Armor game to be a mid four star, a 5'10 LB, and Tracy Howard. It's wild state of affairs.

  • The U will get nothing. The only time the NCAA will take the word of a convict as being gospel is if it's against SC. lol

It is an impossible task without first knowing whether they will be charged with "Failure to Monitor" or "Lack of Institutional Control". Even then the NCAA is far from being consistent.

With that said, I've consistently heard comparisons closer to USC sanctions than UNC or Ohio State. I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope the NCAA takes into consideration Miami's self imposed bowl ban. If the Canes have another mediocre year and self-impose once more (instead of going to the Sun Bowl) then they shouldn't receive anymore post-season punishment imo.

I hope Miami doesn't get hit as hard as USC did, but things aren't looking good so far. Hope you guys figure out your fate sooner than the Trojans did.

    This.

We'll see if you get judged on the USC scale or the everyone else scale. I bet it will be everyone else, which is what it should be (even though I hate that fat f**k Paul Dee). You guys are on the right path after Lil Luke with The Tie.

You had multiple players taking money/abortions/strippers/gifts from a huge booster highly entrenched in the University of Miami athletic department. You had Paul Dee on the COI talking to USC about how they needed to have the kind of high level compliance that The U had during his tenure. This was an institutional problem dating back to Luke.

After a four year investigation, it was found that Reggie Bush was taking money/gifts/his parents lived rent free in a house from a start-up agent completely unrelated and unconnected to USC (outside of a running backs coach recieving a two minute phone call from wannabe agent after Bush's elegibility was up) in San Diego. It was a Reggie Bush problem, not a USC problem.

    Here's some cliff notes

An isolated incident isn't an institutional problem. Agents paying kids is a CFB institutional problem (Josh Luchs). Obviously what happened at The U wasn't isolated.

I give props all the time to Florida for being proactive and placing strict laws on agents who give money/benefits to amateurs. If every state followed that lead it would basically eliminate the problem.

  • Two year bowl ban

24 lost scholly's over three years

    Five years probation

Either way, Miami's current roster is NOT good. Not only are they insanely young, but they're becoming less talented with each graduating class and early departure. Last years class had five or so really good players, and a bunch of duds. That's not how you build depth or compeition to make the few good players better. No idea why Golden used so many spots on so many questionable recruits. South Florida is alot better overall this year, and especially next year. Last year it was WAY Down. No reason at all to load up on the players he did.
