Sandusky verdict coming now

    I thought I remembered it and will eat my crow and say that I was wrong. I could have sworn I remembered him backing up Sandusky when this first hit though.

    He didn't. If he did, that certainly would have stuck out. Paterno and Sandusky did not like each other and did not talk to each other. There is little chance that Paterno would have backed him.

    Its OK, there has been a ton of info and mis-info out there. I don't know of any support at all from Paterno.

    3-There is no way the NCAA will ever get involved in anything to do with any of this. People who are claiming otherwise simply are ignorant of what the NCAA is, and what they care about.

    the ncaa is already involved. don't see anything coming of it, but the investigation is happening.

    I think this is the type of reaction most people want from your fanbase. A lot of you have held these views, but like in most message board situations, the few idiots ruin it for the sensible one's.

    Out of the 500,000 alums and countless other thousands of people who affiliate themselves with the university, the football team, etc. there is no more than a handful who believe anything other than what chasfcd11 said. However, having these feelings and also hoping that Joe Paterno's legacy as a person who did overwhelming good deeds are not mutually exclusive. That is what is so frustrating being on our side of this situation. I believe that this jury full of Penn Staters and its very swift verdict are case in point to this fact. No one, outside of the victims themselves, holds more anger in their hearts towards this man then people affiliated with PSU. No one. We watched him on the sidelines, rooted for his defenses, lauded him for his charitable efforts and even commended him for stepping away from the glamour of football to better serve that charity. We all were duped and that hurts. It speaks to how masterful JS was at his deception.

    We as Penn Staters have revered both men. However now we know both men differently. One is a monster and the other is simply human.

  • Sandusky called himself the Tickle Monster. I hope he meets Bubba and the Pickle Monster each hour while in prison.....but he'll likely commit sideways before he gets to prison.

    Prison can't wait to meet this bish. People who abuse kids, and it's well-known, have to be protected from general population because prisoners have a code of conduct.....and certain things get punished within their system. I wish him nothing but the worst.

    You should get that straight. You are making the same mistake Joe Paterno did.

    It was not a mistake. Several PS officials including Paterno conspired to cover this up for nearly a decade.

    We will find out in due course whether any remain. It's hard to believe some on the BOT didn't know what was going on well before November, including the governor.

    I feel extremely bad for the victims, the only heroes in this situation, especially the ones forced to take the witness stand. I also feel bad for the community and student body.

    Best of luck to the new football/AD/senior university staff with establishing a new culture. It will take several years and likely sanctions (self imposed or NCAA), but the focus should be toward restitution and restoring trust and honor at the university. Football is (or should be) secondary until all of these issues are resolved.

    Convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky had a surprise waiting for him when he was sent to jail the first time, reports Andrew Strickler of The Daily.

    As soon as the lights went out at night, Sandusky's fellow inmates at the Centre County Correctional Facility serenaded him with a chorus from Pink Floyd's "The Wall":

    "Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone!"

    Similar humiliations are expected to continue now that Sandusky is back in jail having been convicted of the crimes.

    Jerry Sandusky is currently on suicide watch. He'll be sentenced in 90 days.

  • i dont think sandusky should go to prison for life. i mean he is a human who makes mistakes. how would you feel if you were told you were spending the rest of life in jail. Its not like the man killed anyone. I say put him in jail for a couple of years.
