Yeah WWS just didn't do it for me, and yes i'm clowning on Pearl Harbor. Kate Beckinsale, the most gorgeous woman on the face of the earth IMHO, couldn't even begin to save that movie.
Watching The Deer Hunter is such an emotional/timely investment, but it is great there's no doubt about that.

People liked Valkyrie? I usually like Cruz but wasn't a fan of that film, maybe because I knew the story of the botched assassination attempt going in.

Yeah my Grandfather who faught in ww2 got to the beach scene, teared up and left the movie theater, so sad.
Powerful movie.. I was so pissed when the Sniper died, dude was a beast.

I've always wanted to see a movie about the small destroyer task force that fought off Japan's attempt to stop the landings at the Phillipine's. Tiny little destroyer escorts going nose to nose with the biggest battleships ever to be constucted. It's one of the most heroic battles in US Naval history.
Hollywood could have made this movie and not put out pig s**t like "Battleship".
