Say 3 UK players go 1st round

  • Obviously it's feasible, it happened before IIRC. That's 60% of a starting line up.

Can you imagine 60% of a football team's starting 22 going first round in one year? Ridiculous.

  • UNC is going to have 4 starters go in the 1st round.

  • If you do a little math, with 30 picks in the NBA's first round, there are 6 starting line-ups chosen in the first round. 6 football line-ups would be 132 players. 60% of 22 football players is 12.5. I imagine a few teams have come close to have about 12.5 players drafted in the first 132 spots in the NFL draft.

Kentucky might actually have all 5 starters picked in the first round. Davis, TJones, Lamb, and MKG could all be lottery picks.

Actually UNC's entire starting 5 is projecting in the first round...

McAdoo doesn't start, but yea they have 5 players that could be picked in the Top 20 picks.

He isn't, he was probably thinking of McAdoo

You sure about that? I've seen him in the top 5 of some mock drafts.

Edit: My mistake. That was Jeremy Lamb from UConn.

O yeah true he isn't I just looked again. But I also see that if McAdoo goes he is rated as a 1st rounder. Which would still give UNC 5 people in the 1st round. But looks like he is not sure if he wants to go or not.

If McAdoo goes, he'll probably go Top 10 and maybe even higher. Its looking like he is going to come out, I hope not though.

Interesting but I'd be surprised if a team has had that many taken in a modern, 7 round draft. 6 is a lot, I'd think 8 or 9 is probably on the really high end.

No way McAdoo leaves IMO. If they do UNC is going to have some issues next year.

Dex, and Leslie gotta come back strong next year. Especially Leslie, they need him to score like he is capable of.

Yea, UNC will struggle a bit if McAdoo leaves. A few sources have said its looking like he is gone, but he could really use another year in school. Its hard to pass up being a top 10 pick though.

Cody Zeller passed up...I think he was a Top 5 pick in my opinion... I don't like the way the draft is going tho... Too many younger players. I would pick Tyler over Cody but most places have him rated higher in draft stock. But I completely understand leaving though, I mean they should not be forced to go to college for 1 year in my opinion. It should be go to college for a degree or go straight to the nba out of high school. Its no point going to school for a year to risk getting hurt when you don't even plan to stay.

Really? That's surprising and stupid of him IMO. The kid was terrible for the first half of the year, if he leaves I wouldn't be surprised if he goes the way of Brandon Wright and we rarely ever here from him. He is 6'8 and a bean pole without a jump shot.

UNC is going to be young next year. What is Stillman's deal? Isn't he going on a mission at some point?

I guess Bullock slides to the 3, Leslie and Dex split the 4, Page plays the 5. But PF and C belong to James and Johnson?

Zeller's are just different though, Tyler could of left early, but decided to stay all four year and I could see Cody doing the same thing. They really value the education they are getting.

Yep I don't see Cody leaving. Like you said Zizzle, Tyler easily could have left early but decided to stay. I also think Tyler is the superior prospect between the two, he didn't do it much this year, but Tyler has a 17 foot jump shot. As well as an array of post moves. Plus we all know how well the Zeller's run in transition.

Yea he definitely needs another year. He'll be really good next year and be the go to guy. As far as Stillman goes, yea he is going on a mission next year and probably won't return to UNC I'd guess.

The starting lineup if McAdoo leaves:

    PG: Paige/Strickland
    SG: Strickland/Leslie McDonald
    SF: Bullock/Hairston/Tokoto
    PF: Johnson
    C: James/Hubert

They might get Oriahki from UConn though so he would start at center obviously if they did.

  • Since the direction of this thread changed, baseball rules IMO. Go pro if you want, 3 years if you go to college.

1 and done sucks, but give him credit, Calipari has mastered it.

I completely forgot about Hairston. Kid is going to be a stud, just never got going this year IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play a boat load at the 4 and the 3.

Really about Oriahki? That's interesting, not sure if he fits their style of play, but an experienced C better than a raw Freshman I guess.

I like the baseball draft better, but for a different reason. I wish players could declare for the draft and if they don't like their draft position, team, or contract offer, they could return to school. When more players early enter the draft than there are draft positions, it's a problem. This rule change would help to eliminate some of the problems.
