Vanderdoes is better friends with Arik than he is with Huch, Gus and Eddie's father are good friends also. I think we have a leg up in the close friend category. If you want to play that game any way.

Did Eddie tell you all of this himself?

Not even close to accurate. The dads are close, however, Hutch and EVD are close friends. EVD and Arik, not so much.

The game is played that way...it's called recruiting. You think it was an accident that Hutch and EVD are rooming together? The same with Hawkins and Willis? This is all choreographed for a reason.

I alluded to Foster getting too big too fast on BOL about 2 weeks ago. That quick weight-gain could possibly cause back, hamstring issues which can trickle down and cause other injuries. I have no idea how he gained that much weight that fast but he needs a legit S&C advising him because he is asking for trouble with that excessive/quick weight gain.

Hope he gets back down to ~235 and "gradually" gets up to 250 via proper diet and nutrition.

    Trooper Taylor diet IYAM.

Hutch and Hawkins will make quite an impact On the recruiting trail. Kiffin and staff are brilliant for turning over the recruiting reigns to the kids for a while.

Exactly. And you were spot on with your Armstead explanation.

I think most teams let the recruits help with recruiting.

I am not trying to stir the pot with the question. I just want to know if there is any merit to this question: Is it possible that Willis and/or Goodman’s planned OV to LSU/Bama in November is not all genuine interest (not discrediting either kid that there is some actual interest) in the program but just high school kids wanting to experience the game, free of charge, while being with the team, during one of the most hyped games of the year?

I ask because with Shea Dixon’s quote seems to imply that you and Shea believe that the potential OV is a telltale sign of the the duo of Willis and Goodman leaning toward LSU if they visit, versus merely taking in some hype and learning more about the program.

If anyone believes Priest and Tahaan are leaning to LSU, they are misinformed. Doesn't matter if they take an OV or not.

    LMAO...... You might be right.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

My feeling is that at the end of the day(not literally) EVD will want to be mentored by Coach Orgeron. His track record for putting dlinemen in the league is unparalleled.

D1a is definitely more informed than most on the issue, and I wouldn't discredit anything he puts out there. However, Hutch and Eddie are closer than Duck fans would like to admit.

Absolutely agree. I always worry about some players when they gain so much weight so quick.

I think Foster sees how big some of the recently drafted NFL LBers are. He just needs to realize that he is 17 years old and the good weight will gradually come.

Really hope he doesn't stymie his on-field maturation with this additional weight. His burst/explosiveness is what made him special. Wonder if he still has it at 250.

Thanks again. This is where I am leaning, but I understand the allure of Eugene and the "excitement". I'm not sure how close Arik and Eddie are, but I think Eddie has a great chance of becoming something special under the guidance of Coach O.

Yes, but at The Opening, Oregon's closest thing to a major camp, their highest target on defense, Vanderdoes, is rooming with a recent USC commit. Hutchings has been selling USC hard for a while. There is no coincidence that he and Hawkins are rooming with two of the best uncommitted defensive players left. Brilliant.

oh i know this, Dont know why our staff is letting him visit with Nico and Vanderdoes after the opening. Hutch is all Trojan and his prescience hurts our chances with making a good impression on either guy. But i could be wrong, just have to wait and see.

Oh yeah De Anthony Thomas weighed 156 going into college. Five stars on every publication.By no means am I saying he is the mamba just saying weight shouldn't be a issue

Weight is not nearly as important as frame. I don't think Chris is skinny FWIW. We will watch him this week for sure.

While I'm not disagreeing with you, I have heard that he is going to take his time and not feel pressured by class size or remaining scholarships. He is going to evaluate his top schools and commit when he is ready.

I wouldn't write Nebraska off here. Top 3 of NU, LSU and USC. No particular order.

There most certainly is an order and NU is not at the top.

There were people hoping, but most everyone who spent enough time on the board knew that Shaq didn't like Eugene even though he was flirting with the idea. Eddie is a completely different story. His connections to Oregon are much stronger and he actually likes Eugene, not to mention he knows exactly what happened with AA's brother down at USC.

I'm totally with you there. His weight gain during the offseason has been rather alarming to anyone that understands how off-season training should actually work. I'll be curious to see how it affects his performance and other measurables.
