Seems like Americans do like more government

Go push for a constitutional amendment then. Otherwise, keep the hot air blowing in another direction.

So you like it like this? And speaking of hot air, I don't think I've seen anyone spew more than you.

I don't care about any of it anymore. I read a how to guide on tax evasion. You can too!

Yes! There are plenty of ways to evade taxes legally. The most popular is to receive government welfare and other subsidies.

    Go bucky go

Yea. I'd equate wanting to create a direct democracy mechanism for situations like this as "hot air".

Politicians aren't under any pressure. Even with overall approval ratings for congress low, most individual congressmen have nothing to fear on election day, due to the trend in polls for people to hate everyone else's congressmen but like their own. The president of course has nothing to worry about. This is why the choice today is to either don't think we need cuts or accept this is about the only form they come in. I'm sure you can find a cable news channel that will bolster either position if you need to sell yourself on one or the other.

Yep. They are completely shut-off from the rest of us. Term limits, I would hope, would cause these bastards to stop fucking up the system so bad that the only way to ensure you aren't hurt by their dumbasses decisions and indecisions is to stay in the government.

Let them serve their country, then send them back into the private sector. Instead of letting them become millionaires off of our money.

You really want a monarchy or a totalitarian dictatorship.

I'm fine with term limits but I'm not sure what the results would be, other then the fact nobody would achieve legendary asshole status like Tom Delay or Barney Frank. I can think of negatives actually, but I'm pretty cynical.

Gerrymandering is an overrated concept that even the minority party doesn't tend to complain about anymore. Voters tend to naturally gerrymander themselves these days anyway. For the most part there's no sane way to artificially create a competitive district in the majority of cases.

    You serious Clark?

Gerrymandering seems to be the MAIN reason we have such huge extremes in partisanship.

It's terrible. The two parties have moved further to the outside and away from the center. We have almost zero moderates anymore and no one votes left or right of center from the right or left respectively either.

    You should care. It's

    A) sad that people don't actually know the law

    B) that the constitution is being misused for politics

Congress makes law that create spending and revenue. Those two combine to make the general budget of US every fiscal year. The difference between that combination and the layman's budget is a budget assumes its balanced. It's an overrated concept.

Yes, I forgot, fiscal responsibility is overrated and undesirable.

No actually that would be you. A week ago you were advocating endless deficits and debt as being not only okay, but preferred now you are against a budget for the government to operate by. You are the the one who is retarded, and very much so.

While he's basically right that fiscal responsibility isn't inherently tied to a signed budget, because his team hasn't had a balanced budget in years, he'll probably explain to you there's actually virtue in not having a budget.

Yeah, he has the most warped view of finance of anybody I have ever come across. He picks and chooses what he wants to believe, or what he needs to convince himself that Dem policies are actually financially responsible when clearly they are not.

No I get, you don't have to explain anything. You want the government to pay every-ones bills, and regulate the hell out of everything, and be involved in every aspect of human behavior. You know that the only way to accomplish these things is to spend tons of money we don't have.

So instead of realizing that the country can't afford the Democratic agenda you try to justify the destruction of its finances, the devaluation of its currency, and the lack of any semblance of financial management on behalf of the federal government. You have convinced yourself that these are good things. That the rules of money and finance somehow don't apply to the federal government, that money is endless, grows on trees even. That responsible finances are unnecessary.

You seem to think that we can just go out spend money on any and everything we want, and then not even bother keeping track of where it's going. And that there will never be any consequences.

In your world money management is simple...JUST SPEND IT! DUH! LOL! You are something else.
