Serious Question about Arkansas v. LSU

  • Does Arkansas have just enough offensive fire power and good enough special teams to outscore LSU? I know if they played this game 10 times I feel LSU would win 8/10, but they only play it once.

    Am I being a homer thinking this could be a close game or not?

  • I dont see it.

  • At home you have a 2 out of 10 chance...in baton rouge you got about a 1 out of 100 chance so ill say no

  • Arkansas has a chance. Anytime that offense gets on the field they have a chance to score. Problem is Arkansas doesn't have a running game and thr will allow LSu to play more coverage and zone. They're tough enough in man.

    Dreadnought

  • That's all I am asking. The game is during the day, which helps a lot. LSU at night is a lot tougher than LSU at early afternoon. However, I agree this would be an upset of epic proportions. Didn't think OU would get beat at home by 5-5 Texas Tech either. So we will certainly see.

    Rumor has it, Knile Davis is coming back for the LSU game. I am not buying it, plus he isn't in game shape. So I don't know how much that will help. However, Dennis Johnson has had sucess in his career against LSU and Ronnie Wingo and Broderick Green have both been running extremely well as of late.

    The thing that Arkansas does, is Bobby uses the pass to set up the run, not the other way around. We will throw on first down all night, the key is going to be protection of TW.

  • Arkansas always gives lswho problems. Do I think you guys win..no, but can you...yes. I think the lswho d-line will have a field day against your o-line. They have some serious speed up front and a secondary almost or as good as BAMA's. One thing about TW I like is that he will stand in the pocket and take a hit. He'll take several that night. 24-20 corndogs

  • I think the game will be decided by LSU's qbs. If they have a solid game LSU wins in a blowout. If they are sub par (which they haven't shown any hint of being), then its a crapshoot.

  • Do I think Arkansas is better than LSU? No. Do I think Arkansas will beat LSU? No. Does that mean it's impossible? No.

    Would love for that to happen. Here's the deal, IMO, say we beat LSU we are going to the CAP 1 either way. First Scenario, Arkansas and Alabama finish in the top 2 of the BCS rankings out the 3 and Bama takes the tie breaker to the SECCG. Since Alabama, will most likely crush UGA in the Championship, Bama goes to the MNCG in NOLA and that leaves the Sugar to take an at large team. Now, if you were the Commisioner of the sugar bowl, who would you take? Previously #1 hometown LSU tigers or an Arkansas team, who was hosted last year and lost, without superstars? The choice is easy. You take LSU.

    So Arkansas despite a (potential and collosal) upset of the #1 team in the country, would be sitting at #2 in the country with out a shot at SECCG or a BCS title.

    OU = Bama
    Texas = LSU
    Texas Tech = Arkansas

    And that my friends, is how the cookie would crumble.

  • Our DL will have a field day against your OL. Our OL will have a field day against your front 7. We will pound the ball all day and keep your O on the sideline. Your special teams are really good but so is ours. We will not let the pigs return any punts this game and y'all have 6 for TDs. We will play nickle all game, what concerns me the most is DJ Williams over our LBs but hopefully Ark will keep him in to help protect. Prediction LSU wins by 17

    DJ Williams graduated. Do you mean Chris Gragg?

  • It'll be a close game, but near the end, one of LSU's seemingly endless defensive play-makers will make a play and end it.

    Honey Badger rips the ball out of Dennis Johnson hands as reaches for extra yards late in the 4th. I can see it now.....

    Claiborne. "Honey Badger" is ridiculously overrated. Claiborne is the real deal.

    Claiborne is a better cover-guy and all-around corner, but Mathieu would be my bet to make some freak play to ice it.

    I wouldnt say overrated, he's very aggressive which makes him prone to giving up the big play

    I just wasn't impressed with him. I regularly saw him getting lit up by ball carriers and blockers. Claiborne, however, was a nightmare.
