Seriously...How is Auburn holding on to top ranked recruits?

  • Let me admit that this question is coming from a Bama fan. I realize I don't understand what "the Auburn fambly" is all about but in all seriousness what is an 18 yr old top notch recruit attacted to about playing there? According to their coaches they are a young team which to me means they are playing a lot of players who a freshman will have to come in and outperform in order to take playing time away from. They are clearly the worst team in the SEC outside of possibly Kentucky. I know they have a passionate fan base and an eagle that flys around and all but I just don't get it. I just can't see what the 18 yr old athlete finds so attractive about that place and their staff. We all know change is coming but I still can't believe they haven't lost a single recruit given the nuclear meltdown happening there now. I guess we'll see how the "fambly" ends up treating the coach that 1.5 yrs ago brought them their first title in 60 yrs! What am i missing???

    This is the serious, correct answer. Our class won't completely fall apart like some people think, but we'll lose our share of recruits. You know, the ones that can't appreciate hookers, cash and blow.

    Mike Shula went 4-9 one year and finished with a top 10 class on rivals. This is the same Mike Shula that was fired as offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Bucaneers before coming to bammer. The same Mike Shula that no other team outside bammer has ever even considered hiring as their head coach. The same Mike Shula that never won shit as a head coach

    Yes, because following recruiting rankings, reading the sports section in the local newspaper, and watching the local sportscast on tv is really difficult

    However, I shouldnt be surprised at how many people cant or dont do that in a country where 40 or 50 percent of the population cant name the vice president or pick out California on a map
