  • I mean if you had a job that revolved around physicallity and you simply took it serious and worked out 30 hours a week with supplements you could achieve that. Just saying.

    Can you imagine getting in a fight with someone who looked like that AND was a trained fighter.

    As a grown adult already in world-class condition, without anabolics...No. If he was strictly a bodybuilder you could almost pass it off as freak genetics, as a fighter it is blatantly obvious. With how professional fighters train, it is extremely difficult to put on any size, they are constantly fighting off catabolism. There are a lot of fighters that juice, a lot, and none off them have come remotely close to the lean size gained by Overeem. There is a reason that up until a few months ago that he always fought in non-testing organizations. If you recall, he also bailed on his first UFC test and had a very sketchy excuse.

  • He avoided fighting in the US for years, and there were numerous rumors he did so to avoid testing. No doubt he was targeted by the NASC after he sketched out b/f the Lesnar fight and flew to Holland rather than be tested.

    I hope he gets cut.

  • Mir has improved so much. Him and big Nog always had the best ground game in the heavyweight division but Mirs new diet and how big he is to go with that ground game and improved striking.. I rly think he gets the belt.. Been saying that for a year now.

    You act like brock is all natural. And I would still say a healthy Brock would get wrecked by Overeem. Brock has never liked getting hit and you can be sure Overeem would pound on him.

  • What Brock did with raw athleticism is crazy impressive. He beat Couture, Herring, Mir and Carwin...all good to very good heavys. He definitely got exposed by the heavyweight strikers, but keep in mind Cain is considered to be one of the top 3 heavys out there, and Overeem was deadly (and juicing).

    Brock may have been overrated, but he was still good enough to beat a LOT of guys while fighting off two separate bouts of diverticulitis.

    Only thing worse than a fanboy might be a hater.

    But the thing is, he did all of that without any MMA skill other than wrestling. Hard to argue with his pure athleticism and size.

    I'm not sure he was ever considered to be the end-all, be-all of MMA, but he was a gifted wrestler who beat some good guys.

    Couture fought Noguiera after that fight in a fight of the night war (that I thought Couture won). Carwin beat Mir b/f he fought Lesnar, was 12-0, and has only lost to Dos Santos otherwise. Herring was journeyman with a lot of experience that got overwhelmed by Lesnar in his 3rd fight (ever).

    The heavyweight division lacks the depth, historically, to make an argument re experience. But Lesnar will go down as a freakish athlete who overcame EXTREME inexperience to become a UFC heavyweight champion. He was hyped by the UFC b/c he was a goldmine in the ratings department, but you act like he just wasn't any good. That's not the case and there is no reasonable argument otherwise.
