  • The big thing for Lewis Neal at LSU is that he'll have a chance to play early given he will have the least amount of technique to learn once he gets to campus (in comparison to the other DEs LSU will sign this year)

And with Sam Montgomery and KeKe Mingo on the way to the NFL Draft, LSU will start two young DEs with no starting experience (Danielle Hunter and Jermauria Rasco) and then need to 2013 class to come in and fill everything beyond the two-deep, which could quickly get jumped given the current guys are Jordan Allen and Justin Maclin, who have both seemingly hit a wall and not really developed into players the staff once thought.

  • After watching Neals senior film I totally agree Shea that his technique is pretty incedible for being in high school. What sticks out most to me is how good he is at engaging the man infront of him then being able to get his head to the side to see the play and be throw the man aside to he can make the tackle.

The new senior film on him is great and shows the coaches got a huge pickup with this kid. Im still just blown away at how this kid is ranked an 3 Star at 85. Hes 6'2" 240 and well advanced than most in technique. Hopefully he can get his bump after showing out at the Shrine Bowl then Offense/Defense Bowl.

Lewis Neal is a lot of good things. Time will tell if he's underrated. But 6-2 he is not.

    I've mentioned Kirk Donaldson already.

Tristan Mumford is another who's performed well. He's always passed the eyeball test and is a superb athlete.

Just hate that WR target Trevon Brown from New Hanover wasn't picked; a major oversight by the staff, IMO. He'd be a major recruit with better grades and more exposure.
