    Are you referring to the law that was overturned by the Supreme Court almost 3 years ago?

    I'm curious about this as well. I don't know how another law would have been created when McDonald v. Chicago clearly shot down banning guns in cities/states.

    It's kind of a no brainer that localized Bans don't work, especially when the ATF isn't allowed to track gun seller inventories, guns can cross state line, and private sales are unregulated.

    From what I heard on the radio the other day. According to a study A lot of the guns are legally purchased in places like Missisippi in bulk, and then sold for profit on the "black market" in Chicago.

  • I really hope that someone already mentioned it, but owning a gun isn't illegal in Chicago. It has almost always been legal to own a shotgun or rifle, and a few years ago the SCOTUS shot down the ban on owning a handgun in Chicago as well. It is quite difficult and expensive to register a handgun in the city of Chicago, but it's definitely possible and legal. IL residents will finally have the ability to conceal carry within the next several months as the state has been directed to come up with a law allowing and regulating it.

    As far as murders and crime go, a LARGE percentage of the murders and violent crime occur in 2 areas that are about 2 square miles each. One of them is on the southside of the city and the other is on the west side. I live on the northside and feel almost completely sheltered from the violence that happens in the city.

    The First Lady can go anywhere secretly - this is another move by the administration to publicize a tragic event to sway agenda driven policy.

    Just show up and pay your respects - the world does not need to know Michelle is attending - infact it turns the whole event onto a "Michelle" event and less about the poor little girl.

    When you have voted, when you have served your country, when you have been to college, when you have raised a family, when you have held a significant job and had others lives dependent on your decisions, when you have paid for your first house and paid your own utility bills then you can talk to me about being educated but I have been all the above and you are a little spoiled, entitled teenager who thinks they have arrived.
