ROLL TIDE!
But 2 of the top 6 and 6 of the top 16 is a down year for us by any standards. We had to take a small class this year. The Big 12 is quaint. They still go by the 25/85 rule.

Funny how Bama fans forget the entire decade in which they got their asses whipped nearly year in and year out.
Year W L 2007 7 6 2006 6 7 2005 10 2 2004 6 6 2003 4 9 2002 10 3 2001 7 5 2000 3 8 1999 10 3 1998 7 5 1997 4 7
Every Team has its down years. and yall should know better than anyone its a slow process.
we went a decade with 10 wins or more a season so naturally something was eventually going to go wrong.
weve gotten better each year 8 wins in 11 9 wins last year so if we keep on pace we will be right where we were before with having 10 wins year in and year out and competing for championships. Recruiting will follow suit

No Alabama fan would ever deny that we've had our down years. As we all know, this sport is cyclical. I also don't think an Alabama fan would try to make excuses for having a losing record against Texas. Throughout the long history of CFB, every team has a couple of lopsided losing records that they'd rather not have. In the case of Alabama and Texas, there were many close games that we just couldn't close out. It happens. Both of our programs have losing records to ND. We have a winning record over USC, y'all do not. We could go round and round with this all day. The fact is that both are premier programs. Alabama is number one by most metrics and Texas is a top 5 team depending on what all factors you choose to include (Texas is strong in win percentage and obviously the head to head over Alabama). The point is that our second best coach in history (Saban) has 3 national titles in 4 years. Your second best coach in history (Brown) has 2 conference titles in 26 years of coaching. His one national title team did have a stellar defense that put alot of guys in the NFL, but it also had Vince Young, who complete took over the NC game. The other NC appearance came with a poor man's VY. Saban just plugs new guys in each year and never relies on star power at one position.
Every program has its highs and lows, but some programs highs are better than others. When Alabama is on top, we are really on top. Texas has never had a run of dominance the way Alabama did in the Bryant and Saban years. Again, Texas is still a blue blood, top 5 type program, but there's a reason why there is a gap (admittedly not a large one) between Texas and Alabama.
