the playoffs, w/o question. If not, the winner is most likely in and the loser is on a serious bubble. Making it into the playoffs guarantees our money back at a minimum. Would it be a dick move or just a smart move?

dick move imo. And why would you get your money back just for making the playoffs. Sounds like a pansy participation league to me. Get in the title game or get nothing is the only way to go.

I'd sit them. A couple years back I was in a Wall Street style NCAA pool. You wagered fictional money, and got bigger odds with the lower seed teams. By the championship game I was up so much, I split my money in half and bet on both teams and locked down my victory. I got a little shit for it, but hey I won that money legit.

4 teams in playoffs and top team usually gets ~60% w/ 2nd place getting ~20%. 3rd gets money back + ~$25 and 4th gets money back. I don't hate it as it's a keeper league and making it into the playoffs takes you out of the lottery for the next year's draft position.
FWIW, I'm really still on the fence about what to do. The opposition said as of now, that's definitely what he wants to do, but we'll see. I guess I've never tried it, but I don't see why you can't just move all your players to the bench. We'll see if that even works.

I have never been in a league(nor would want to be) where the league/commissioner would not penalize for collusion like that. It's cheating. I would give both teams a L if I was commissioner, never let you back in the league, and sure all owners but two would stand with me
