Whats getting lost is the fact that around 20,000 kids died today. TODAY. Almost half of those died because they didnt have clean water. Here we are trying to take guns away because a few kids died while 10,000 kids only need some clean water. Yall tell me whats getting lost. Are those 20 kids in NJ more important than brown kids in third world countries?
When you look at the big picture it seems kinda ridiculous that were talking about banning video games and assault rifles in order to save a few kids here and there and let millions die each year because were to dam lazy to get them some clean water. And thats a story you wont see on the news or in the media. I promise you that story is much worse than any shooting in the US.
But that kinda defines the point. The world is a shit place from certain angles. Its not a double rainbow world. And thats what pisses me off the most when "tragedies" like these happen and people feel moved to get up in arms for a few weeks to make themselves feel better before completely forgetting about it in a month. There are tragedies happening every day. Either find a way for you to get personally involved and make a difference by getting your hands dirty and doing actual work or shut the hell up. If you didnt know churches from all over the country regularly go on mission trips to install water filtration systems and to dig fresh wells all over the world. Go help save some kids that dont have to die in the future if your so sad about kids dying.

I'm not calling out anyone on tBB with this comment, just FYI, but I find it interesting how some people support sending aid to people in other countries (which I fully support, by the way) and yet call doing the same for some people in our own country "socialist" or "liberal" or what have you. Weird double standard IMO.

No such thing as an assault rifle. Assault is an action which can be performed with anything from sticks
and stones to nukes. They are all useless without an idiot behind them. If this guy had used a couple of
pipe bombs and possibly killed more people how could we ban those? If he had used a single shot gun
and only killed 5 kids would it have been any less tragic? And would we then ban single shot guns. Point
is they will always have ways to kill regardless how many freedoms you would want the goverment to
take from law abiding citizens.VaHorn ●

May be gibberish to you but i can promise you that if someone breaks into your home and threatens you
and your loving family you will wish you had as many bullets as you needed to protect them. I know if
they come into mine they will leave feet first because i will not be shooting a sling shot.VaHorn ●

If you can't take them out with a 45 or a shotgun, then perhaps you don't need a gun? The sad thing is that it is much more likely that a family member will use that gun to commit suicide or a child will accidentally shot himself with the gun. The odds that you will use that gun to kill a burglar are lower.

I am sure i could take them out with a 45. But i dont have one or an AR. What i do have is a 12 gauge, 2
ruger sr40's that hold the same combined as an AR, a ruger mini14 ranch rifle with 5 20 round clips, a
410 that belongs to my son, ruger 10/22 with 5 ten round clips, and a taurus 45/410 judge revolver. My wife,
son and I go often to shoot and learn safe firearm handling. As for odds, well you have much higher odds
losing a child or family member in a car crash but i bet you still drive them around.VaHorn ●

I think a ban on assault rifles is coming and long overdue. You and your stockpile will be fine. Don't count on being able to replace that ruger though. It should be banned. Those guns will net someone pennies on the dollar when they are stolen and fenced.

So it looks like violent video games are under review...
