So pretty much its going to be a ACC team against Notre Dame every year even if Notre Dames record sucks. Is this how its going to work.

Looks like Notre Dame is guaranteed the OB as long as they have 9 wins.
How much you want to bet that ND makes more money per appearance than the ACC? Swofford is an idiot.

Read on a pitt board that the Big 12 committed suicide by joining with the sec instead of nd in a bowl agreement. Pitt fans are saying that if nd joins the acc in olympic sports that spells the end of the big 12.
ND joining in olympic sports will only further piss off the football schools. There is a reason that 4 schools refused to sign a grant of rights to the acc. Those schools? FSU, Clemson, VT and GT.

Yeah it's a matter of time those four schools will be in the sec and big 12. The champions bowl sealed that.

Yeah, it is great. Everyone thought ND would get shut out and be forced to join a conference. Now, before all is said and done ND will have agreements with the Orange and Fiesta Bowls. Independence is great.

It doesn't really matter now. With the 4 team playoff, the BCS bowls are just higher paying bowls. Notre Dame isn't going to sniff the Top 4 anytime soon.

You can try to minimize the fact that you and others thought ND would get pushed out, now they are going to have a better home than a lot of teams for post-season play for the next 12 years. Get over it.

They usually make it to a BCS bowl with a 9-3 record, no big change here.

Lol... I have been to the fiesta bowl... it is chit.
If anything I should be thanking you.

I'm not sure why ND fans are happy about seeing the Irish get outclassed playing in a bowl that doesn't match their accomplishments. It seems it would be too painful to watch.

Recent history says ND won't win a bowl game most years...just sayin! Playing in a game they may not "deserve" won't help that any.

this. not really a big deal.
they've only had 9 wins 5 time since bcs started in 98 anyway. that's barely 1/3 of the time.
it's not like they get into bcs going 6-6.
besides, winning 9 games is good for them now. we should be happy for them that they've accepted their new status in cfb as an also-ran.

Great move by those bowls to retain viewership. With the playoff, the BCS bowls are going to really dive in marquee match-ups and relevence. The Rose and Suguar still have tie-in's with the big conferences, and the Cotton is gaining steam with the Big 12 and SEC. Bringing in ND will help gain viewership and revenue, especially for the Fiesta which was a second tier bowl along the lines of the Citrus before they managed to somehow wiggle their way into the BCS. Cotton probably should have had that distinction.

We all know that Pitt is just mad that you guys landed in a better spot than they did. They can talk about whatever they want, but moving forward the Big XII is in better shape than the ACC. They have options... the ACC might have ND, but if not, they have the Big East rejects left to choose from.
