This is absolutely ridiculous. Seriously, absolutely ridiculous.
When you're fighting against a party whose leaders declare that their #1 goal is to make you a one-term president, you won't get any cooperation whatsoever. To lay all of the blame for the inability of the parties to compromise on Obama is so far beyond wrong that it hardly bears mentioning.
Hell, you have GOP leaders like Darrell Issa saying things like "this is not a time for compromise." As a president, what do you do there? If you act unilaterally, as in the case of the executive order relating to the DREAM Act, you're called a tyrant. If you try to negotiate through traditional channels, you're opposed regardless of the merits or validity of your proposals. As a result, you end up with the type of deadlock we saw in Obama's 1st term.
On top of that, the sequester is hardly Obama's baby. The only reason Obama was forced to consider the idea of the sequester is because of the lunatic fringe taking the debt ceiling hostage. That crisis was just another example of the obstructionism Obama has been fighting against since he was elected. No other president has had to deal with that amount of BS.
Finally, even GOP darlings like Paul Ryan have said that they've fought for legislation like the sequester for years - but now, they're backpedaling and attempting to use its negative effects to slam Obama. I would hope that you're not so brainwashed that you just dismiss the entirety of this post, but I really, really can't emphasize how ridiculous your post was.

I get it - but you are posting the same type of Dem vs. Reps stuff like your comment about clean energy earlier. It's been a us v. them thing seemingly forever.
Obama is not a leader - a leader can negotiate with the other party - Reagan did it, Clinton did it, and even George Sr. did it. Obama alienates the Republican Party and acts all shocked when they give him the middle finger...
Honestly - what is Obama's legacy at this point?

Sweet Jesus, you really don't get it.
Obama didn't ride in on a platform of "
the Republicans, I'm running this thing." He tried to compromise for years, and got nothing. Anything he put forth was opposed simply by virtue of who proposed it. Romneycare? Best idea ever. Obamacare? Apocalypse. Over and over and over again. There's no compromise to be had when one side refuses to budge an inch.
I don't think you really understand how unprecedented it was for Obama to face the level of pure political obstructionism that he dealt with and deals with to this day. No other president has faced a debt ceiling negotiation because one party is holding the interests of the country hostage for petty political gain. No other president has seen such virulent opposition to the appointment of a cabinet position when the appointee isn't even of the president's party.
This is not a "both sides do it" situation. Your example of what constitutes a "leader" is idiotic, because it's not like Obama didn't try to negotiate for years. No president has faced the blind obstructionism that Obama has faced. His legacy will be as the first president to deal with the violent death throes of the traditional Republican party. He'll go down as the victim of the most childish and selfish collective political behavior in Post-war America.

Complete and utter bullshit. He didn't republican support for 1 item in his 1st 2 years as president. In fact it was the shitty way his ACA was passed that lead to his party getting their asses handed to them in 2010. What did he say during the health care negotiations to John McCain? How many times has he reminded the Republicans that "He won?"
The Republicans shouldn't budge an inch because Obama is at best a socialist and at worst a Marxist communist.
Hell, in that google forum he held last week, he decried the fact he wasn't emperor of the US, but just the president.

All true enough. Increased domestic output AND refining capacity would lower domestic prices. Getting it out of the ground is great but until we can pour crude into a gas tank it won't much matter. That we are sending oil overseas to be refined is retarded.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Why did he invest in companies such as Solyndra, and Tesla? Every major oil and natural gas leader has said that a comprehensive natural gas grid including fill up stations across the nation could finished in about a year. This is selling at less then a tenth of petro and is unbelievably abundant in THIS COUNTRY, thus much closer to energy independent.
Clearly the man has an agenda and it doesn't include the economy or the citizens. He will absolutely go down as the worst president ever if he keeps making investments with tax payer money in completely worthless endeavors

It definitely doesn't. It would take an enormous investment to do this without crazy fuel costs. I don't think that it is too far off right now and could possibly do it for 1-2 cents a gallon. That is way too much, obviously, but they just have to get over that hump and power it naturally. Where is Solyndra when you need them?
