Just listening to Emmert, it sounds like school presidents (the NCAA) are wanting harsher penalties. They've had enough of corruption and out of control programs. I'd imagine that Miami is going to get hammered.

They are a repeat offender ie SMU. They should get serious sanctions. They have been cheating big time since the 80's. Got caught & never stopped. Every time you turn around the canes are either going on or coming off probation.

From the start i have thought they get creamed
I have no reason to change my opinion, i just have a bad feeling for Miami
Ever since i have been alive i have known the NCAA has it out for the Canes, this is their chance to really deliver a haymaker and i doubt they pass up this chance

I want to point out that Oregon is also in the cross hairs of the NCAA right now. Miami is certainly not "the last school" the NCAA is looking at.

First off.....it's stupid to gage Miami's punishment in comparison to what went on at Penn State.
Most fans come to realization that we'll get upwards into the USC type sanctions. Everyone else screams death penalty for UM, while we say no, and everyone else like you say, dp is coming, and we say it won't be one. UM fans know penalties are coming but we think we will survive like we did the last one.

NCAA still has Oregon, Syracuse Hoops and UCF to get to as well as Miami. UCF's cheating is alleged to have been with Administrative support. I don't think you can gauge what the NCAA will do by looking at what happened today. This was the worst college scandal ever IMO and the punishment was handed down by Emmert himself. Miami will be going in front of the committee and have a hearing. I would think Miami gets something in the area of what USC got. Death Penalty is off limits because it would damage the entire ACC.
I don't think Miami will thrive under sanctions like USC. Out West USC is really the only dominant recruiting program. If Miami gets the exact same penalties they would not have much success recruiting against FSU, UF, Bama, Auburn and LSU. Then to get the next tier of player it would be a tough fight against USF, WVU and the other programs that dip into Florida.
