So who joins the ACC?

UNC is far too classy and historical to help lead the procession out of the ACC but if FSU, Clemson and VT look to be gone they will golden parachute on up to the B1G in a heart beat.

that leaves miami stuck there. i'm telling you some team is gonna get screwed

  • Miami is going to get stuck because shalala won't go to a conference with bad academics. Only chance is if the ACC adds a bunch of dummies so the ACC would no longer have strong academics

Keep in mind, the Big 12 only has 10 teams, and is looking for an entire eastern division.

    WVU
    FSU
    Clemson
    Miami
    GT(if Big 10 doesn't want)

That would make 14 teams in the Big 12 with 5 teams in the east. Would need to move 2 teams to the eastern division. If the Big 12 goes all the way to 16, Louisville and another team would be brought in. Not sure who. Duke? Wake? Not many to choose from. I don't think Pitt will be brought in since WVU already delivers Pittsburgh. Syracuse maybe.

  • I could see Miami going Independent if they get left out of the big conferences.

As much as I jab Miami on here I dont like this but I think Miami gets left out because the advantage its always had will hurt it: it's in Florida but its just about closer to Columbia....the country....than most of the Big 12 and definitely the B1G. Also the stadium situation is egregious.

Sanctions wont matter. That's short term, but those two issues will hurt Miami. And of course the fan base.

    1. The stadium is a pro football super bowl hosting stadium.
    2. Its what 30 mins more in a plane than tallahassee
    3. You're still a douchemoon

The stadium is a mausoleum of boredom when FSU isn't in town. I accept your mooning and raise you mumbled curse words haha

ACC is in trouble unless they win their suit against Maryland. If schools can get around the $50 mil buyout, FSU and Clemson will bail to Big 12. Then it will totally fall apart.

UNC and UVa to B1G, VT and NC St to SEC

God, please, NO......I hate UNC and State fans enough now! There heads would pop. But, NC State will need a new AD first. Yow already said that there is no point of even looking at the SEC if they can't win the ACC first. But, ya know, she does have a point, their last title for football was 1979.And they just fire their coach.whistling

UNC no longer matches the B-10 academic profile, their student don't have to go to classes.stir

I felt like the Big 10 should have added a Miami/ND combo years back.

Strong academic schools, TV market appeal (lots of Big10 fans in SoFla), old rivalries (Miami/ND/Penn St/Ohio St)

Fwiw man I am cheering for GT, Miami, FSU and Clemson to land in the Big 12.

Just dont see Miami in the B1G. I realize the academics angle is key and definitely true for Miami but isnt the southern most program there Maryland? lol

Planes make it acceptable IMO... It's not like Miami is in the middle of SEC country. Tons of yanks down there.

Boise St is in the Big East (way way way further) & WVU is in the Big 12 (same distance as Miami would be)

BSU will never play a BE game. Already about to switch back to MWC.

Unfortunately Louisville to ACC will be announced tomorrow it seems. This will be seen as a stabilizer. I want the ACC to totally collapse.

  • Also, I'd lol HARD watching those 305 boys play 'Sconsin in late November some years up in cheese country. 30 degrees at kick and 25 at halftime. Some of them Polk and Bean boys wouldn't even have the toughness for that hahaha

  • Once Maryland gets out of it's buyout, the shoes start falling. Maryland is going to fight with everything it has because they simply cannot afford to pay $50m over any term. Their athletics have been on the ropes for years thanks to Yow @ ncsu.

A lot of programs are getting footholds before they move where they really want to go. Happened to the BE a number of times. Louisville will be in the Big 12 in 3-4 years for sure i would guess.
