He's the best player in the world. That's what I ranked. My projection of who the top names in world soccer will be in two years.

Add your own. I made a good list, make comments on it.

    fsufsu

  • One guy likely left off is Eden Hazard. He is moving to the EPL this summer and will blow up the next two years. A Franck Ribery type.

    "off the cuff"

It's for fun, provide your own list. I'd love to see it.

Well it's very solid except for the fact some of those guys disappear in the WC.

It's more about who will be considered where in the world pecking order going into the tournament. I think Messi breaks out next tourney. Argentina is going to have a great team and Pastore will get him the ball and provide creativity they've lacked in the midfield.

Argentina won't make in past Round of 16 and Messi won't have more than one goal,IMO.

I think he is already there. But I understand you mean in World Cup play. And in that instance I agree with both of you.

He's the best player in the world when he has Barca midfield and la liga refs on his side. When he doesn't, he's merely above average.

  • Other guys who will be elite and maybe on these lists:

    Mario Goetze -- ~24, Germany, W
    Kun Aguero ---- 26, Argentina, F
David Silva ----- 28, Spain, MF
    Mario Gomez --- 28, Germany, F
    Javier Hernandez - 24, Mexico, F
    Louis Suarez --- 26, Uruguay, F
Cesc Fabregas -- 27, Spain, MF --- will be a top 5 world midfielder. Not sure how i forgot him

You simply can't be taken seriously here.

My analysis is justified by his poor performance given the situation I supplied.

Chicharito is good but not elite yet, he's a super sub at Man U.

Yeah, he will rarely start with Rooney and Welbeck on the team.

    fsufsu

  • The more you look at it I believe it becomes obvious the best teams will be:

    1. United Kingdom
    2. Spain
    3. Brazil - Hosts with a huge advantage IYAM
    4. Germany
    5. Argentina

  • As much as I hate to give that dirty spaniard credit Puyol must be placed near the top if not at the top of the list

Ok, now I know what I am dealing with. In the real world Puyol is 31 and declining quickly. He'll be on the Spanish roster in 2014 only as a reserve and ambassador type. Not a chance could he make this list.
